So hot ABC renewed Celebrity Family Feud, Match Game, $100,000 Pyramid and To Tell the Truth for another season. The news should come as no surprise to anyone because they have done better in the ratings than most of ABC’s shows that air during the regular season. Which makes you wonder why ABC is only airing them in the summer. I would prefer to watch them over a lot of ABC’s dramas. Wouldn’t you?
I mean we knew Steve Harvey was a good game show host, but who knew that Alec Baldwin was the perfect match for Match Game? If you haven’t seen their Sunday night lineup, then you need to watch the past episodes on their website, onDemand or their app. You won’t be disappointed!
Even though Uncle Buck did better in the ratings than some of ABC’s other shows like The Real O’Neals, the network decided to cancel the summer sitcom. The show’s star James Lesure broke the news on Twitter this morning, hours after the season, now series, finale aired.
I think they made a huge mistake because the remake based on the John Hughes’ film, was actually really well done and funny. Much stronger than O’Neals, Black-ish and Modern Family. They would’ve been better off keeping it as a back up for the midseason because they are going to need it when O’Neals and Downward Dog fail.
Maybe Freeform, Aspire, BET or TV One will consider saving this show. I doubt they will, but this fan is hoping they consider it.
UPDATE: While the news is gloomy over at ABC, TNT and TBS had some sunny news for their viewers. TNT renewed Animal Kingdom for a second season, and TBS picked up both of their sitcoms Angela Tribeca and Wrecked. While I still miss Sullivan & Son, Ground Floor and Clipped, I am happy that TBS is is keeping those comedies on their lineup. They are not as good as the other three, but they are definitely entertaining.

Out of all the pilots that the networks sent out thus far, I found that ABC has the best new drama, Designated Survivor, and the best new comedy, Speechless. I was totally expecting to hate the sitcom but I liked it so much that I watched it twice in a row.
When it comes to rest of their lineup, it is status quo. Although, the Tuesday night comedies might have little problem in the ratings because they are debuting in mid-October.

Back in 1989, John Candy starred in the movie Uncle Buck, and now 25 years later Mike Epps is stepping into the role tonight at 9p on ABC.
Alexis (Nia Long) and Will (James Lesure) are workaholic parents, who are going on a work related vacation to get away from their kids. Only problem is their nanny quit and they have no one take care of teen Tia (Iman Benson), preteen Miles (Sayeed Shahidi) and the cute but trouble Maizy. Will suggests that his out of work irresponsible brother takes care of them and Alexis (Aalyrah Caldwell) says no. That is until they really can’t find anyone else to do it.
Alexis should’ve stuck with her instincts because he is the worst babysitter through an adult’s eyes, but an awesome one to the kids. How bad will he mess it up? Really bad, but the kids seem to like him. Now he is staying on as their nanny, and I am not sure who will be raising who in the coming weeks. What I do know is, I was surprised by how much I laughed during the two episodes that I saw.
If you are looking for a family comedy that is a comedy, then you are going to love Uncle Buck as much as I do.
Then at 10p over on TBS, Wrecked comes crashing down to our TVs.
Are you like me and wish you could have a do over with Lost because you are still pissed about how the show ended? Well Wrecked is the answer to that call. It is a parody of the drama, and it might even better than the original. That’s because it never takes itself seriously, something the show it is based on did.
I had a lot of fun guessing who was and who and then having flashbacks to different scenes from the original show. Once you get past all of the Lost comparisons (you will) then you start to enjoy this hilarious show about a bunch of people who survived a plane crash and are now deserted on an Island.
Actually Wrecked is Lost meets Gilligan’s Island, and let’s be honest we have been craving that combo our whole live. We just didn’t know it until Wrecked.
So tune in for a show that will make you laugh and reminisce at the same time!
It has not been a good few months for ABC. First, their Head of Entertainment was replaced midseason. Then they announced that Michael Strahan was leaving Live with Kelly and Michael to join Good Morning America, and his co-host was blindsided by the news. Kelly Ripa was so upset about it that she went on strike for a week. Finally, ABC announced that they were not renewing Stana Katic’s contract, and there were a lot of rumors that her co-star Nathan Fillion and her did not get along. Fans took the internet and let it be known they would not watch the show without her. ABC did the only thing they could do, they cancelled the procedural in the 19th hour.
Just when it seemed like their troubles were over, comes an interview that was heard all over the World Wide Web today. The Real O’Neal’s Noah Galvin, who plays a recently out teen in a very Catholic world on the sitcom, sat down with Vulture and was brutally honest with them. He said that David Blaine “turned out to be the weirdest f*cking dude.” Told fans who Tweet him their problems, “I don’t have time to be your f*cking soothsayer.” On Colton Haynes recently coming out in 3 page Entertainment Weekly article, “That’s not coming out. That’s fucking pussy bullshit.” He said that Eric Stonestreet is “playing a caricature of a caricature of a stereotype of stereotype on Modern Family.” He talked about a guest star, who he says flirted with him so he asked the unknown actor if he was Gay. Galvin’s reaction to the actor telling him he didn’t know, “I’m more like, go with the flow. And I was like, Shut the f*ck up. Get out of my face with your wishy-washy bullsh!t answer. You’re a f*cking f@ggot. Like, I know you are. You know you are. Stop beating around the bush. Just go make out with me in my dressing room.” There is so much more.
One element was so slanderous, that Galvin issued its own apology for his comments and Vulture pulled the quote.
They say that there is no such thing as bad press, but this is a case where it is bad, very very bad. Here is an actor that no one knows, on a show that barely anyone watches and he p!ssed off all the wrong people. ABC now has 3 months to right his wrongs, but it wasn’t a headache they needed or wanted after all the other ones they have been going through.
Plus, they still have to make The View better, find a co-host for Kelly, figure out how to do better in the ratings and keep Shonda Rhimes happy. All of this controversial stuff going on and she is not part or it. She is slipping, where are Isaiah Washington, Katherine Heigl and Columbus Short when she really needs them? What’s next a Dancing with the Stars scandal? Maybe one for The Bachelor?
You know what? ABC needs to not only worry about their ratings, they also have to worry about their employees. Both seem to need a lot of work. Although they do have the best new drama of the Fall.
