For months, there have been reports that Howard Stern was either retiring from radio after 50 years or was being fired from SiriusXM after almost 20 years. And today, after a week’s delay, we finally found out his fate!
The show started off with Andy Cohen announcing that he was taking over Howard Stern 100. So, what does that mean for the Shock Jock?
April Fools’ Day came almost six months late because that was all a prank. After that announcement, Stern came back and said that all the rumors were “completely false.” However, he is flattered that people still care about him.
The 71-year-old also revealed that he was considering retiring before all the “fake news” happened, but he knew that he couldn’t after the rumors started, because then everyone would’ve thought he “was pushed out.”
So, nothing was happening except that he was getting texts from his friends and offers from other companies wanting to pick him up.
But he told them all he was not going anywhere because he is happy with SiriusXM, and they are happy with him.
So, there you have it: we still care about him, and he still cares about us.
