Rob Lowe was on (one of the last) The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien yesterday and he told the soon-to-be-departing late night host that “this actor” James Van Der Beek robbed him of home run at a celebrity baseball game at Dodgers Stadium a few months ago. Lowe said that he hit this amazing pitch, he was running the bases and that even though the Dawson’s Creek star who jumped and caught the ball, actually didn’t. The Brothers & Sisters star said the ball was rolling around on the floor and that JVDB picked it up and was like I caught it. So when Conan asked Lowe if Van Deek was a liar, he responded with, “He’s a liar…but a damn good actor.”
Well James Van Der Beek didn’t take that interview lying down on the field and he Tweeted the below photos with those captions. After looking at those pictures are you Team Lowe or Team Van Der Beek? Even though I am normally Team Lowe, I am Team Van Der Beek on this one!!!
BTW on a side note…I am Team Conan all the way!!!
This is me about to Rob Mr. Lowe of his home run…
I have no excuse for how stupid an act this really was… but I’ve chosen to blame Tommy Lasorda.
If you look closely, you’ll see the ball still in my glove… and my common sense nowhere to be found.
Anthony Kiedis was there to verify… as was the guy in the floral trunks.
Most people wouldn’t risk their life just to beat Rob Lowe in a charity game… but maybe they should.
