Shhh! Can I let you in on a secret? Homelander is an anti-superhero version of Donald Trump.
So, when The Boys heard about the former president “working” at McDonald’s over the weekend, they knew they had to acknowledge it.
They did so by creating a photo of Homelander working a drive-thru and writing, “Growing up, Homelander dreamed of working at his local Vought A Burger. Recently, his wish came true, as Vought shut down a restaurant and staged pre-selected customers, so Homelander could ‘serve’ ‘people’ ‘food.’ Thanks, Homelander, for showing everyone how you’re a true man of the people!”
Jelly Roll is not an overnight sucess. He had to work hard and play a lot of small venues before he could sell out places like Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Before he sold out that arena, he was so proud when he was able to fill all 200 seats at Stickyz Chicken Shack. From there, he started playing the Rev Room, which was next to Gus’ World Famous Fried Chicken. When they were done filling the seats, they would fill their bellies with fried chicken.
In honor of his return to Little Rock, he decided to pay for everyone’s meal at the chicken restaurant today. Making strangers as happy as he was when he would eat there.
The chart-topping singer had a message for the musicians who are performing at those same bars: “I played Stickyz ten times. I’ve played the Rev Room twenty times. Keep playing, baby! Keep Playing!”
Keep playing, and you might also one day sing at the Grammys and sell out Simmons like he did!
I hope everyone who got a free meal buys his new CD Beautifully Broken. After all, he is going to need the money to pay for all of those meals!
We need more stars like Jelly Roll who give back like this!
A few weeks ago, Kathy Bates said she plans on retiring when Matloxk ends. Well, today, she found out she can’t retire until at least the spring of 2026. That is because CBS picked up the legal drama for a second season after just two airings.
“This reconceived MATLOCK was devised by Jennie Snyder Urman with a brilliant surprise plot twist, and we knew we had something very special the moment we saw the first episode brought to life by the incredibly talented Kathy Bates,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “The audience reception and critical acclaim for it has been overwhelming. We can’t wait to get started on a second season.”
If you have not watched the show yet, then check it out on Paramount+. There is a reason why everyone is loving this series! Bates is so endearing. Plus, Snyder Urman, who created Jane the Virgin, has struck gold again. She knows how to write telenovelas for us Gringos to enjoy!
