Jenn Tran might have placed fifth on season 29 of The Bachelor, but she will be the one on The Bachelorette’s 21st season.
ABC announced yesterday, on After the Final Rose, that the 26-year-old will be the next Bachelorette.
Tran, who is Vietnamese, is the franchise’s first Asian suitor. “It’s honestly incredible and I feel so, so grateful and so honored to be the first Asian Bachelorette in this franchise,” she said. “Growing up, I’ve always wanted to see Asian representation on TV. I feel like it was really sparse. Anytime Asians were in the media, it was to fill a supporting character role, to fulfill some sort of stereotype, and I always felt boxed in by that because I was like, I don’t see myself on screen. I don’t see myself as a main character.”
This summer, she will see herself as the main character, which she never saw as a child, when several men try to win her heart.
Hopefully, she will find her soulmate.
And hopefully, Daisy Kent, who turned down Joey Graziadei and being the Bachelorette will also find her true love!
