Almost all of Bob Ross’ paintings are locked away in his vault, but the one from his first episode of Joy of Painting is for sale. Modern Artifact in Minneapolis is selling that magnificent piece of art for just $9,850,000.00 that they just acquired.
They bought the painting from a woman who worked on the PBS show and bought it at an auction they had after the first season ended. She has held on to it for the last 40 years. But she finally decided to part ways with it.
So, does anyone have $10 million they can give me so I can be the new owner of A Walk in the Woods?
Although, Ryan Nelson, the owner of the art gallery, told KARE he might not sell it. He is thinking of touring with it so that everyone can experience a little of that Happy Hippy Painter in person.
I would stand there and look at it in awe until the museum kicked me out. And I don’t think I would be alone.
Duran Duran started out as a quintet with Simon LeBon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor, and Andy Taylor (no relation). But then Andy left the band in the mid-’80s. Only to return for a bit 20 years later. But he left again in 2006.
Last year, Duran Duran was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and they started communicating again. So much so that they asked him if he was interested in strumming on a few of the songs for their new album. And he said yes.
And today, we got to hear the Fab Five together again on the single Black Moonlight. Along with playing the guitar, Andy did some of the sound engineering on the track.
The band has changed their sound over the decades, but the feel is the same. And having Andy back feels like home.
We are grateful that he is making such strides in his stage 4 prostate cancer battle and that he was able to record with his mates. Hopefully, not for the last time. And hopefully, we won’t have to wait another 20 years for it to happen.
