Freema Agyeman will not be back for New Amsterdam’s final season
July 20th, 2022 under New Amsterdam. [ Comments: 8 ]

The network shows are back in production. Therefore, we are finding out who will be back and who will not be.

Today, we learned that Freema Agyeman is not returning for the show’s final season as Dr. Helen Sharpe. The actress announced the news on social media.

Dearest Dam Fam.
First off I would like to say a huge heartfelt THANK YOU for your unending, dedicated and deliciously ferocious support! I feel very fortunate to have connected with so many of you, while rolling around in the skin of Ms. Helen Sharpe, and witness every ebb and flow of your emotional investment in her. What a ride! Thank you for being on it with me. She has meant so much to me, but the time has come for me to hang up her white coat, as I officially share the news that I will not be returning for the final season of New Amsterdam. While I am saddened, I am also incredibly excited to see how the story concludes as a fan of the series. It has been such a joy to play Dr. Helen Sharpe for 4 seasons – those magnificent writers built a badass! Beyond grateful for the opportunity to tell some of her stories!
Fanfic – it’s over to you to tell the rest!!
Lots of love Fam!

The news is shocking but not surprising how the medical drama ended its fourth season. Sharpe called Max to tell him that she could not go through with their wedding and that she would not be joining him in NYC.

The medical drama’s biggest mistake was sending Sharpwin to London. I don’t know what they were thinking, but that ruined the fourth season. It never made sense why Max would leave New Amsterdam for a woman.

So, I am sad that Agyemam is leaving the show, but I am not sad to see her character gone. How do you feel about her departure?

Can Wilmer Valderrama remember his Fez voice?
July 20th, 2022 under That '70s Show. [ Comments: none ]

It has been 16 years since That ’70s Show ended its run. Netflix loved the show so much that they are bringing it back as That ’90s Show with Red and Kitty. Not only will the parents be part of the series but the basement gang will be making a guest appearance on the sitcom.

Today, was the table read for their episode and Wilmer Valderrama is pondering something. “To whom it may concern…,” the actor wrote, “Now if I could just remember the accent..”

I am sure it will be like riding a bike. If not, we will be laughing with him as he tries to refind it.

Norman Lear wants to recreate the Maude abortion episode for Live In Front of a Studio Audience
July 20th, 2022 under ABC. [ Comments: none ]

Norman Lear has recreated The Jeffersons, All In the Family, Good Times, Diff’rent Strokes, and The Facts of Life for ABC’s Live In Front of a Studio Audience, and now he tells Variety he wants to do one of his most infamous episodes. An episode that is very timely with today’s environment.

That 1972 episode is the two-parter, Maude’s Dilemna, in which Maude decides to have an abortion. That was the first time a character had an abortion in primetime, and it didn’t happen again until Everwood did it in 2003.

Back when Maude had her abortion, Roe v. Wade had not become law, but it was legal to have one in NY. Now, 50 years later, we are in the same boat.

Therefore, it is the perfect time for ABC to recreate it so we can remind people that we have set ourselves back 50 years. How extremely sad is that?

You can watch the episode above and think how brave it was then, and sadly it is the same today. We are still having the same conversations 50 years later.

I hope ABC opts to make this happen. I also hope that ABC decides to pair this with All In the Family’s Edith’s Crisis of Faith. In that episode, Beverly LaSalle is killed for being a female impersonator. It is one of the very few episodes that still affects me to this day. It is also relevant because of all the ignorant assholes we have living in our country today.

Who doesn’t love a man in his underwear walking into a liveshot?
July 20th, 2022 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Aureus’ Karen Firestone was doing a live shot for CNBC’s Squawk Box from her home, and there is a lot to squawk about.

It is not about what the contributor said; it was going on in the background. First, her dogs started barking. Then, a man in his underwear walked behind her.

Who said business news is boring? It isn’t. At least not this time.

Velveeta cheese teamed up with BLT Restaurants to create the Velveeta Veltini that is available during their golden hours of 5-8p.

“As we look to summer, one of life’s greatest pleasures is enjoying summer sips during golden hour,” said Kelsey Rice, Senior Brand Communications Manager for VELVEETA. “We wanted to find a way to elevate this experience for our fans even further, by bringing the rich, creamy goodness of VELVEETA to a martini in a unique and unexpected way for the ultimate outrageous pleasure.”

What is in this ultimate outrageous pleasurable drink? The cocktail consists of VELVEETA infused vodka, olive brine, and vermouth, garnished with a cheese drip and a cocktail pick of VELVEETA stuffed olives and Jumbo VELVEETA Shells & Cheese for the finishing touches. And it sells for %15.

Can’t make it to a BLT Restaurant and want to try it, then you can order the kit to make two cocktails for $50.

Am I the only person who wants to try the salty drink?
