Last season, several doctors checked out some of the medical dramas they were on. Their departure makes room for new medical professionals.
Over in Seattle on Grey’s Anatomy, Peter Gallagher checks in as Dr. Alan Hamilton, who knew Ellis Grey (Kate Burton) back in the day, according to Variety. It sounds like now we know how they are going to incorporate the late Ellis Grey back into the series.
Meanwhile, over on the other side of the country in Manhattan, New Amsterdam is getting a new surgeon. Sandra Mae Frank is playing Dr. Elizabeth Wilder, a deaf surgeon. Like her character, Frank is also hearing-impaired.
We will see both actors debut in the season premieres of their series. The ABC drama returns on September 30th, and the NBC one is back on the 21st.
Melissa Joan Hart is fully vaccinated, but that didn’t stop her from getting COVID-19. The actress made a video describing how she is doing and how she thinks she got it.
She started it off by saying it is “bad.” She then explained how bad, “It’s weighing on my chest. It is hard to breathe.”
The actress shared with us that one of her four sons also has coronavirus, and she thinks he got it at school because he does not have to wear a mask there.
Hart hopes that the other three boys and her husband don’t get it. She is afraid if they do get it, she won’t be able to go with them to the hospital. I am not a mother, but you can feel her anguish as one.
Hart had a few more emotions to share, “I’m just scared and sad, and disappointed in myself and some of our leaders, and a lot of people, and myself. I just wish I’d done better, so I’m asking you guys to do better. Protect your families. Protect your kids.”
I hope that she and her son get better soon and that no one else in her household gets it.
What makes this wave so much worse is kids are back in school. It is going to be unavoidable that they are going to get and bring it home with them like they do colds and the flu. But COVID-19 is worse.
Since those under 12 cannot get the shot yet, you need to do it for them. I did it for my nieces. Please do it for all the kids and people who can’t get the vaccine. Please, stop being selfish pricks and get the prick!
On Wednesday, Garth Brooks cancelled his remaining tour dates for the year, and now BTS has followed suit with their Map of the Soul World Tour.
Big Hit Music said in a statement, “Our company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS Map of the Soul Tour, knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly and long for the tour,” the band’s backer Big Hit Music said in a statement released on its Weverse fan platform.
“Due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned.”
I respect their decision. Due to the Delta variant and hospitals filling up in America, where we’ve had the vaccine, we are nowhere near out of the woods. Being trapped in a confined space for at least two hours is not really ideal yet. I cannot wait until that day comes when we can back to the way things were in 2019. It will happen, just not anytime soon because of COVidiots.
Alex Trebek hosted Jeopardy for 36 years, and the most controversial thing about him was when he shaved his mustache.
Mike Richards, who got the job last week, didn’t even last 36 hours as the host of the game show before stepping down due to things he said on his podcast around 2013. Richards began taping new episodes yesterday and announced this morning that he will not be continuing on in front of the camera.
He wrote in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, “Dear Team,
“It pains me that these past incidents and comments have cast such a shadow on Jeopardy! as we look to start a new chapter.
“As I mentioned last week, I was deeply honored to be asked to host the syndicated show and was thrilled by the opportunity to expand my role. However, over the last several days it has become clear that moving forward as host would be too much of a distraction for our fans and not the right move for the show.
As such, I will be stepping down as host effective immediately. As a result, we will be canceling production today. SPT will now resume the search for a permanent syndicated host. In the meantime, we will be bringing back guest hosts to continue production for the new season, details of which will be announced next week.
I want to apologize to each of you for the unwanted negative attention that has come to Jeopardy! over the last few weeks and for the confusion and delays this is now causing. I know I have a lot of work to do to regain your trust and confidence.”
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Television wrote this, “We support Mike’s decision to step down as host. We were surprised this week to learn of Mike’s 2013/2014 podcast and the offensive language he used in the past. We have spoken with him about our concerns and our expectations moving forward.
‘Mike has been with us for the last two years and has led the Jeopardy! team through the most challenging time the show has ever experienced. It is our hope that as EP he will continue to do so with professionalism and respect.”
It will be interesting to see what they are going to do with yesterday’s episodes because of Matt Amodio’s winning streak. They can’t just scrap whatever they filmed.
Now that they are going back to guest hosts, I hope they get Neil deGrasse Tyson, Rivers Cuomo, and Weird Al Yankovic to try out. Who do you want to see get the job?
Oh, and you LeVar Burton fans didn’t watch his episodes. Because of that, his were the lowest-rated episodes. Therefore, I don’t think he will be offered the gig. Sorry.
It will be interesting to see who they eventually settle on. Because nowadays no one is safe from a controversial past…
