Boo, Madea is back!
June 8th, 2021 under Tyler Perry. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2019, Tyler Perry announced that he was no longer going to make any Madea movies. Well, that was then, and a lot has happened since A Madea Family Funeral. Things like a global pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Because of all of that, Perry has declared, “We need to laugh. Too much is going on in the country. We need to laugh. So I was stunned.” Then he added his Madea voice, “But I wasn’t.”

Where will we see the 12th movie in the franchise? Perry will begin shooting the film next year, and then it will air on Netflix.

Did anyone really think we saw the last of Madea? I knew she would be back to cause trouble sooner or later. I am happy it is sooner.

Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes got Kajagoogoo their big break
June 8th, 2021 under Duran Duran, Limahl. [ Comments: none ]

I don’t know about you, but I love to hear stories about how people got their big breaks. I especially enjoy hearing when another famous person believes in the future celebrity so much that they help them get their start.

Today, Limahl wished Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes a happy 59th birthday. In his post, he shared how the keyboardist changed his life.

“A BIG Happy birthday to NICK (Rhodes) today – I can’t believe it’s almost 40 years since I served you that drink at THE EMBASSY CLUB on London’s Old Bond Street where I worked as a waiter,” The singer wrote, “I enthused to you about my band KAJAGOOGOO. Amazingly you asked me to send you our demos and the rest as they say…you went on to co-produce (with Colin Thurston) our worldwide hit ‘TOO SHY’ 🥂🥂🥂”

To all you future musicians, who are working a day job wishing for your big break, you never where and when you will find it.

It is also nice to know that someone in a band, who just got their big break, was willing to help a stranger have the same opportunity. That is why Nick Rhodes was my favorite member of the band. I knew he had a huge heart to go with his huge you know what!!!

Is Bonnie Tyler really 70?
June 8th, 2021 under Are they really their age?, Bonnie Tyler. [ Comments: none ]

Today is Bonnie Tyler’s 70th birthday. However, you would never know that just by looking at her. She looks the same now as when she told us she was Holding Out for a Hero in the ’80s. It looks like she found him.

Back to Tyler, doesn’t she look beautiful? I want to know what her secret is. Maybe it has something to do with a Total Eclipse.

ABC is out of roses for Chris Harrison
June 8th, 2021 under The Bachelor. [ Comments: none ]

After months of wondering if Chris Harrison would return to The Bachelor franchise due to some racially insensitive comments , he made, today we found out if there are any roses left for the host. There are not.

According to Deadline, he is out of the job after some serious negotiations. The former host is reportedly walking away with an 8-digit hush money package. The site says that he will remain quiet about behind-the-scenes “alleged dirty laundry.” What that is, it looks like we will not find out.

When it comes to finding out who will replace him, I don’t know that either. I am rooting for Wells Adams; what about you?

UPDATE: Chris Harrison broke his silence about his exit on social media. He wrote, “I’ve had a truly incredible run as host of The Bachelor franchise and now I’m excited to start a new chapter. I’m so grateful to Bachelor Nation for all of the memories we’ve made together. While my two-decade journey is wrapping up, the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime.”

UPDATE 1: Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment released a joint statement saying, “Chris Harrison is stepping aside as host of ‘The Bachelor’ franchise. We are thankful for his many contributions over the past 20 years and wish him all the best on his new journey.”

Taraji P. Henson will live on Easy Street as Miss Hannigan in Annie: Live
June 8th, 2021 under Taraji P. Henson. [ Comments: none ]

NBC is back in the musical business, and this year they are doing Annie: Live. Even though we are still months away from that Tomorrow, they announced who will be playing the role of Miss Hannigan. That actress is Taraji P. Henson, who I am sure will be bringing some Cookie to her new Empire.

“Carol Burnett, who brought Miss Hannigan to life in the classic 1982 movie, is someone I have studied and idolized as far back as I can remember,” Henson said, “So when the opportunity came to me to join NBC and this incredible group of producers, I jumped! Carol, I hope to do you proud!”

She can’t be worse than Cameron Diaz, so I can’t wait to see her torture Little Girls who have a Hard Knock Life. I hope that the producers get Billy Porter to play Hannigan’s brother Rooster.

When it comes to who will be playing Annie, the nationwide search begins today. If you think that your daughter Maybe has what it takes, then you can find out here.

Annie: Live will air on December 2nd, so save the date.
