B.J. Thomas lost his batter with stage 4 lung cancer yesterday at the age of 78.
The award-winning singer is best known for his songs I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, (Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song, Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head, Don’t Worry Baby, Whatever Happened To Old Fashioned Love, New Looks From An Old Lover, and Hooked on a Feeling. His tunes were a staple in the ’70s and are still as well known today.
So today, let’s honor him but listening to his catchy tunes. Even though they are sad love songs, they still make you smile.
Gavin MacLeod passed away yesterday at the age of 90 after a few months of declining health, according to what his nephew told Variety.
The actor began his career in the late ’50s but did not get his big break until 1970. That was when he was cast as Murray Slaughter on The Mary Tyler Show. He played that role throughout that sitcom’s 7-year run. When it ended, he immediately jumped ship to The Love Boat. He spent the decade as the Captain Stubing.
For 17 years, he was continuously on our televisions, and he is still on it nonstop. Thanks to those two shows that are still airing syndication. I know that because I record them every day on Decades and Me TV.
Today let’s honor him by laughing with him as he makes jokes about Ted Baxter or finding new ways to deal with his crew.
For the most part, the producers got everything right on Friends. However, there was one storyline that caused the six of them to get together and tell their bosses they didn’t like it.
“When we first started the arc where Joey was going to get together with Rachel. The cast revolted when they read the first script on it: ‘No. Joey would never do this to Ross,'” Kevin Bright told The Hollywood Reporter. “Marta [Kaufman] and David [Crane] were able to explain how it wasn’t going to end in a place that would compromise Joey as a character for stealing his buddy’s girlfriend. That almost didn’t happen. And we would have lost what was a very good season for that. I’m glad they won that one.”
Are you glad that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer won, or were you rooting Jochel?
Manu Raju was preparing to go live on CNN when he suddenly got a fright. It was not a bunch of Republicans coming towards him. Instead, it was a huge cicada who climbed up his lapel to the nape of his neck. Since the crew cares about him, they didn’t tell him about it.
However, when the reporter realized that he just threw the huge insect off of him, he freaked out. That was when they acknowledged it and laughed at him. Something we all did because we, thankfully, are not him.
I love those buggers. Only because I don’t live on the East Coast anymore and have to deal with them.
Now that we have all seen Friends: The Reunion, we have all types of feels. What if The Rembrandts’ I’ll Be There For You went from being a happy tune to a sad one? That is what Chase Holfelder did when he changed the key to a minor one. What he did captures how I feel after yesterday.
