Television is desperate for new programming, but how can you do that when everyone is trapped at home? ABC got creative with Disney’s Family Sing-Along. They asked some of their biggest stars to take part in a sing-along of Disney’s beloved songs, all from the comfort of their own houses.
There was Josh Groban singing You’ve Got a Friend in Me, Ariana Grande belting out I Won’t Say I’m In Love, Little Big Town harmonizing A Spoonful of Sugar, and many more surprises like one from Beyonce. The show-stopper came at the end when the cast of High School Musical along with some other Disney Channel stars brought the joy with We’re All In This Together.
It was a spectacular evening that was pure magic. ABC needs to do this every week because it is the spoonful of sugar we need to make the medicine go down. Hopefully, in the next edition, which I am sure they will do, they will include Twist Your Frown Upside Down from Teen Beach 2. Even if they don’t, they need to make the next sing-along happen next week. Who’s with me Wildcats?
Certain celebrities have a dedicated fan base that will do anything for that celeb. However, some fans take their infatuation to an unhealthy and scary level.
Sam Heughan revealed that he is been dealing with the latter for a while and he can no longer be silent about the abuse. Today, he took to Twitter to let everyone know what he has been going through for six years.
After the past 6 years of constant bullying, harassment, stalking and false narrative I am at a loss, upset, hurt and have to speak out. It’s affecting my life, mental state and is a daily concern. My costars, friends, family, myself, in fact anyone I’m associated with, has been subjected to personal slurs, shaming, abuse, death threats, stalking, sharing of private information and vile, false narrative. I’ve never spoken about it because I believe in humanity and have always hoped these bullies would just go away. I can’t elaborate for ongoing legal reasons but they are professionals: teachers, psychologists, adults who should know better.
Recently, these false claims vary from me manipulating fans, being a closet-homosexual, trying to mislead or exhort fans for money and disregarding Covid advice. I’ve done non of the above. I’m a normal guy and nothing like the characters I play. Most recently, some of you may know I’m currently self isolating in Hawaii. I came here before the travel ban. Non of us knew how bad things would get but as the situation worsened, upon the advice of everyone I trust, I decided to remain in a safe environment. It was a good decision. I’m safe, isolated, putting no one at risk and am not a burden to the locals. Several telling me they are desperate to sell their produce (as hotels and restaurants are now closed). We have not been asked to leave.
Johnny Depp is an extremely private person. Therefore, the concept of him ever joining social media seemed like it would be nearly impossible. One of the things we have learned through these difficult times is that nothing is impossible anymore.
Case in point, the actor joined Instagram and had a very powerful message to share with the world. We need to help people through these dark and trying times. Even though it feels like our hands are tied behind our backs (which they are), we need to make time and care for others. We are going to get through this.
Since he cannot go out and secretly bring joy to others, he found a way to do it via social media. He revealed that he and Jeff Beck have been working on an album for over a year now. Even though the album is not ready to be released, they shared a song that is perfect for listening to, as we all are self-quarantining. That haunting tune is John Lennon’s Isolation.
Together, they modernized a song whose lyrics are timeless. It is the type of song where you stop whatever you are doing, close your eyes, and get lost in it. All you can do is appreciate the power of it. For a few minutes, everything that is bothering you just vanishes. All you do is feel the music and let it transport you to a safe place where there is no virus. A world where we can hug our loved ones, who are not able to be with us, and they can hug us back.
We need a few minutes to not be lost in our thoughts. That is Depp’s way of bringing us joy in a time when there doesn’t seem to be any.
Before he pressed stopped, he had one last thing to say to us. The actor said, “On a more personal note, thank you for your kindness, your unwavering support, and your strength over these years. I am touched beyond words.”
Finally, he promised, “I reckon there is more to come.” We need his calm voice in these hectic times and I hope he doesn’t wait too long to record another video. To see the first one, then click here!

Adam Sandler can write some funny songs, but then some of the other ones are sad. Today, he released his newest one, and it is called We’re Never Gonna Shake Hands Again. I have to admit that it just brought a tear to my eye.
However, those tears of sadness became tears from laughter as I watched the music video that goes along with the song. Now, I don’t know what emotion to have.
All I know is I want to shake someone’s hand after that, and I want to shake someone’s hand now. I miss shaking hands.
Back to Sandler, his voice sounds like an early ’80s New Wave singer on this song. Do you hear that too?
