Catie Turner has a manic Sunday on Idol and Clay Aiken has some words for her
May 7th, 2018 under American Idol 9+, Susanna Hoffs. [ Comments: 2 ]

Back when American Idol was on Fox, the three judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul, would rip the contestants a new one if they flubbed the lyrics. That was then, now it is a whole new ball game since the show is on ABC with these three judges.

Catie Turner forgot the first few lines to Manic Monday. Instead of starting over starting over she just went on with the song once she remembered the rest of the words. When she was done, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, all told her it was OK and that it has happened to them too. Well, American Idol’s real season 2 winner, Clay Aiken, did not like how nice they were to her and wrote, “So when i was on @AmericanIdol I slightly flubbed some lyrics. Nowhere near this noticable.. https://youtu.be/tt1_QVQ8KMQ and even Paula gave me hell. This girl gets a therapy session?! 🙄 Really? Seriously??! What happened to the show we loved? #MakeIdolGreatAgain.”

He is 100% right. How many of us have been to a concert and the singer forgot the lyrics? How pissed off were you? I still remember Sammy Hagar messing up Right Here, Right Now. We pay a lot of money to see them sing, they better know the words to the songs they are singing. Don’t tell them it is OK. I love you Luke, but I will never forget you screwing up the National Anthem. Will you?

I get it she is young, but still, she needs to learn the right way not the wrong way to act as a professional singer. She also has to learn the right way to choose a Prince song and not just one that was sung by another artist. That and she totally messed up The Bangles tune. What was up with her dancing? Like she said it was not her not night. So much so, she was rightfully eliminated.

BTW if this is what American Idol is like now, no wonder it is doing poorly in the ratings. There is nothing positive I can say about it. Can you?

Lady Antebellum screws up a line of the Star Spangled Banner
May 7th, 2018 under Celeb Oops. [ Comments: none ]

Lady Antebellum was given the task of singing the National Anthem before the Game 5 between the Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators on Cinco de Mayo, and they decided to harmonize it in their own special way. They were doing well until about midway through they flubbed a line. Instead of giving up, they got back on track and finished the Star Spangled Banner.

Sadly, we did not see their faces when they messed up, but the two hockey players they did show had a good laugh. So did the trio for the night once they were done singing the song that we have been singing since we were in school.

Last Man on Earth ends its season on highlarious note!
May 6th, 2018 under Will Forte. [ Comments: none ]

It is hard to believe it, but tonight at 9:30p on Fox it is time for The Last Man on Earth season four finale. Like seasons in the past, it ends with Tandy (Will Forte) saying, “Oh farts!”

Before we get to those last two words of the episode, a lot of stuff happens before it. Tandy and his brother Mike (Jason Sudeikis) return from their trip, only to see everyone else outside the house with their belongings. The group tells the brothers that they are moving because the house is full of corpses, guns, and explosives. But they say it in a more colorful way.

After Gale (Mary Steenburgen) suggests that they move to Cancun, they are ready to go. Before they leave, Todd (Mel Rodriguez) sings a song, Melissa (January Jones) gives a solo 21-gun salute and Tandy gives one of his speeches that is unlike any other toast you have heard before. That and they blow up their former home.

Before they drive all the way down to Cancun, they make a pit stop at the place that the Miller brothers found the goats. You know the place where last week’s episode ended with all of those other last people coming out from an underground bunker? Yeah! What happens next, well you will just have to tune in to find out.

But the real reason why you want to tune in is to watch a cast that you can tell is really enjoying themselves on a comedy that each week finds a new way to top itself. You never know what they are going to do next, but you know you are going to be laughing hysterically. Plus, they have given us some of the most creative and hilarious deaths that any show has ever given us.

I mean this is a show about an apocalyptic virus that has wiped out most of the World’s population and yet they found a way to make a heart-warming family sitcom that causes you to laugh out loud every week. Like tonight, when there is a very tender moment between the brothers that is totally unique to this series. That is why each week, I look forward to seeing what trouble they will get themselves into now.

One last thing about tonight’s episode, Kristen Schaal was minutes away from giving birth in real life and the producers had to come up with some interesting ways to handle it. Last week, she was on Conan she told him what they had to do. She also gave us a challenge for tonight. To see what it is, then click here!

Is Stormy Daniels the most famous celeb in this SNL cold open?
May 6th, 2018 under Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: none ]

So much has happened in Trumpland in the last week that Saturday Night Live had to bring in a whole slew of celebrities to give us the update. Ben Stiller reprised his role of Michael Cohen and Alec Baldwin returned as Donald Trump. Then there were a whole bunch of other guest stars in it too like Martin Short as Dr. Harold Bornstein, Kate McKinnon as Rudy Giuliani, Scarlett Johanssen as Ivanka Trump and Jimmy Fallon as Jared Kushner. The biggest surprise of them was Stormy Daniels as herself.

Not only was it star-studded, it was also really funny and accurate.
