Tone Loc was performing with the I Love the ’90s Tour in Sioux City when the audience was given quite a scare. The rapper was singing his hit Wild Thing and dancing with several audience members on the stage when it seemed like something was wrong. His people came to hold him up as he was starting to faint and rushed him back stage.
You know the saying, the show must go on? It did for him because after a short while he returned to the stage like a Funky Cold Medina.
How is he doing today? His friend and tourmate Vanilla Ice Tweeted this update, “Tone Loc is fine and doing great. Thanks for you guys concern. He got lightheaded and dizzy, Dehydrated. See you tonight. #ILoveThe90sTour” Thankfully he is OK and going on with the tour.
It has not been a good year for musicians on stage in June Meat Loaf collapsed on stage, in July Joe Perry nearly did before walking off the stage to do it, in August Smash Mouth frontman Steve Harwell did it, in September Eddie Montgomery did the same and finally last week Kanye West walked off the stage after an outburst and was hospitalized two days after that. In fact, according to several sources he is still there with his wife by his side.
Let’s hope that 2017 is better to musicians than 2016 was. What a year it has been for music, so many greats passed away like David Bowie, Prince, Merle Haggard and Leonard Cohen just to name a few.
