Ever since we have known Hilary Duff has had long blonde hair, well that is no longer the case. As soon as she was wrapped on the second season of Younger, she asked Cynthia Vanis to give her a shoulder length bob. You know what, it works on her. It is cute, just like her.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=181&v=Z9aRmmWX5XI Steve Harvey hosted the Miss Universe pageant tonight and he announced that Miss Colombia was the winner. Only problem is that she was the runner up and Miss Philippines was the actual winner. So the host had to come out and tell the world about his mistake.
After the show was over, he Tweeted his apologies. He said, “I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible. Secondly, I’d like to apologize to the viewers at that I disappointed as well. Again it was an honest mistake. I don’t want to take away from this amazing night and pageant. As well as the wonderful contestants. They were all amazing.”
Maybe because I am such a fan of Harvey’s, I am not upset with his mistake. He is human and it can happen to almost anyone. Plus, now we are actually talking about the pageant. Had he not messed up, would we have even cared that happened.
UPDATE: Steve Harvey took part in a press conference after the show and he explained how he messed up who won Miss Universe. Basically he read the top of the card that read Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez’s name and didn’t see that she was first runner up. The winner’s name was on the bottom of the card, so that is what happened. They should’ve just had the winner’s name on the card just like awards shows and he would not have messed up.
The force was very strong with Star Wars: The Force Awakens this weekend. How strong? It broke so many Box Office records, I can’t even count then all. Or lazy I am!
Here they are: United States:
· Biggest Thursday preview gross with $57M.
· Biggest Friday and biggest single-day gross with $120.5M.
· First film ever to post a single day over $100M.
· Fastest film to $100M and $200M.
· Biggest December debut (nearly 3 times previous record of $84.6M).
· Biggest IMAX Thursday night preview ($5.7M), single-day ($14M, Friday), and weekend ($30.1M).
· Highest theater average for a wide release ($57,568)
Internationally:
· Biggest opening weekend of all time in UK (4-day), Australia, Russia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Austria, Poland (3-day), Denmark (5-day), Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Ukraine, Iceland, Serbia, New Zealand. Second biggest opening weekend in France, Belgium, Israel, Chile.
· Biggest IMAX global debut of $48M.
Remember this is only the opening weekend, imagine how many more records it is going to destroy the longer it is out. I don’t know anyone who has hated it and that includes fans and non-fans alike. I am sure many people are going to see it over and over again while it is in the theaters for the next several months and that will help make it even more money than its predecessors. Maybe even combined.
