The reboot that no one wanted is officially dead. That’s right, according to The Hollywood Reporter Coach fumbled just as it was about to hit the field. The trade says that multiple people told them production had just started and it wasn’t going well.
Coach being dropped by NBC is less of a shock than the fact that it was picked up in the first place.
The worst news about the sitcom’s demise, is now we won’t get an ALF reboot. Earlier this month at the NBC TCA Summer Press Day, NBC’s Entertainment, Chairman, Robert Greenblatt said that if Coach scored a touchdown, then he would consider bringing ALF back. I guess that isn’t going to happen now and it’s all your fault Craig T Nelson.

CBS announced today that not only will the dome come down during the season finale of Under the Dome, the September 10th episode will also be the show’s final one. When Dean Norris heard the news, he Tweeted the above photo and said, “Hey Dean, your show just got cancelled. What r u going to do??…I’m going to Disneyland!”
Can’t say I blame his look of excitement, I had the same expression when I heard that show was being put out of my misery. The first season was great television with ratings shows in the fall look forward to, but the second and third seasons were just absurdly awful. Each week gets worse and worse, and yet I like the remaining few million viewers, who are still watching, are like why are we still watching. At least we don’t have to for much longer.
Now back to Norris, someone hire him ASAP. He is a true talent that needs to be on television as much as possible.
The bad news it is for Worst Opening of a Movie in Wide Release from a major studio. According to Box Office Mojo, We Are Your Friends made $1.8 million this weekend even though it was playing 2,333 theaters. That is average of $772 per theater. Ouch.
On the plus side, he knocked Vanessa Hudgens’, his High School Musical’s co-star, film Bandslam out of the Top 10 Worst Wide Opening releases. That was nice of him.
When it comes to We Are Friends, there was barely any promotion for it and judging by the trailer, there’s no reason to see it in theaters. It looks like a movie that would air on ABC Family over the weekend. Too mature for the Disney Channel and not mature enough for Lifetime Movie Network.
