Jessica Simpson sprawled seductively down on a rug and told the world, “I love carpet.” I don’t think she quite understands why and how you get rug burn. You are supposed to get it when you make love on a carpet not making love to the carpet. But at least she is showing her appreciation to the things she loves, so you can’t fault her for that.
Elton John was attending The Statoil Masters game yesterday, and after talking to his players he went to sit down. As soon as he put his butt down on the chair, it fell over with him in it. The reporter couldn’t hold back her laughter, but then had to get her composure back as she asked him if he was OK. The singer reworked I’m Still Standing to shake it off, but she just didn’t get it. Oh well, at least he didn’t make an a$$ of himself. Oh wait…
For weeks, Discovery has been promoting Eaten Alive, a special they said where a guy gets eaten by anaconda while he is alive. It turns out, after watching the show for two long hours, he was just tasted by the snake. His head was swallowed up by the reptile and his body was squeezed by it. Then when the crushing effect became too much for him, he asked for his team to rescue him.
So obviously this whole stunt was a disappointment to all who tuned in. In fact, some people like me, compared it to the time Geraldo Rivera opened up Al Capone’s Vault and nothing was inside. A comparison the newsman does not like. He took to Twitter and said, “Comparing Eaten Alive to Al Capone’s vault is unfair. I didn’t know the damn thing was empty & I didn’t stop halfway down belly of the beast”. He is right and his event was on live TV, so they found out when we did that it was empty. Unlike yesterday’s taped show where everyone involved knew he wasn’t really eaten alive. So in a way we should be a lot more disappointed by yesterday’s special because they knew nothing was really going to happen.
Now even though Geraldo has a point, both specials were big let downs. So which one do you think was a bigger let down?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpKgTOIjJhM The Librarians debuts on TNT tonight at 8p and it is pretty near perfect.
I get screeners all the time, and every now and again, I get one that completely blows me away. The Librarians is just one of the few shows that completely wowed be.
Noah Wyle is back as Flynn Carsen and this time he is getting some help. While trying to retrieve an artifact, he winds up meeting Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn), leader of a counter-terrorism squad for NATO. After their chance meeting, she gets an invite by the Library to be his Guardian. The timing couldn’t be more perfect because someone has been killing off the potential Librarian candidates. There are three possible Librarians, who are still alive and are near the top of the list, and the two of them are going to bring them in for their safety. Jake Stone (Christian Kane) has an IQ of 190, but you’d never guess it by looking at him. Cassandra (Lindy Booth) has synesthesia, which is the ability to link all five senses to her memory. Finally, there’s Ezekiel Jones (John Kim) and he’s tech wiz.
Now the five of them have to figure out who is killing off The Librarians before they get killed themselves. Not only do they have to survive this mystery murderer, they have to retrieve Crown of King Arthur before that group does. Since this group has gotten closer to the Library than anyone else, the library has destroyed itself. Now, they will have to go to a satellite center that is run by Jenkins (John Larroquette) and he is nothing like Flynn. He is used to working by himself and everything has its place. Unlike what these Librarians are used to.
With everything being in flux, Flynn reluctantly recruits the Guardian and the Librarians to join him, and now they are trying to keep magic contained.
Each week they will look for a new magical artifact and try to contain it before it gets into the wrong hands. Each week, I will be tuning in to see how they do it.
The Librarians is the perfect mix of humor and adventure, and that is why I enjoyed it so much. I am sure you will love this show as much as I do. It’s like that feeling you get when you read a really good book. But then again I am probably making that reference because of the show’s title.
