The Beverly Goldbergs together again!
August 14th, 2014 under The Goldbergs. [ Comments: none ]

We are about a month and a half away from the start of The Goldbergs’ season 2 on ABC (September 24th), and the real and fake matriarchs got together again. I always love seeing Beverly Goldberg with her counterpart, Wendy McLendon Covey, because you get to see what a great job the proud son did when he was looking for someone to play his mom. Which is a good thing for him because we have seen the show and we wouldn’t want to mess with the Queen of Smothers!
Seriously, is it just me or does the real Beverly Goldberg not look old enough to have a son who’s old enough to have created a show about her and their family?

Would you pay $169 for a hot dog?
August 14th, 2014 under Guinness World Records. [ Comments: none ]

The Guinness World Book of Records has added a new hot dog to its pages. Tokyo Dog in Seattle has created a wiener that is so expensive, it costs a record breaking $169. What makes it so expensive? The foot long dog called the Juuni Ban “contains smoked cheese bratwurst, butter Teriyaki grilled onions, Maitake mushrooms, Wagyu beef, foie gras, shaved black truffles, caviar and Japanese mayonnaise, all served up in a brioche bun.” Sounds yummy to you? Then call the food truck two weeks in advance if you want to try it. All proceeds from the world’s most expensive hot dog go to the American Red Cross.
Since I am from NYC, I will stick with the boring old sauerkraut and mustard. What do you like on your red hot?

The Broadway cast of Aladdin honor their friend Robin Williams!
August 13th, 2014 under Broadway, Robin Williams. [ Comments: 1 ]

The best part about Aladdin was Robin Williams, so it makes sense that the Broadway version of the Disney movie would honor him. During yesterday’s performance of the show, Tony Awards winner, James Iglehart, asked the audience to sing the Genie’s big song, Friend Like Me, in honor of the great entertainer; and they did. They did it so beautifully and with such warmth, I am sure Robin Williams felt the love wherever he is right now. Because as we know, we ain’t never had a friend, never had a friend. We ain’t never had a friend, never had a friend. We ain’t never had a friend like him. We ain’t never had a friend like him!

August 13th, 2014 under Before They Were Famous, Tracey Gold. [ Comments: none ]

Before Tracey Gold was a news story on Heartbreakers, she was a reporter for Dolly Madison Pies. How cute was the 11 year old in that 1981 commercial?
