The American Scream is something to scream about!
October 28th, 2012 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

You know that house that is decorated to the max for Halloween and you wondered what went into it? Well tonight at 8p on Chiller TV you get a glimpse of that reality in The American Scream. The people who brought us Best Worst Movie, show us the stories of three families in Fairhaven, MA who makes their houses haunted every October 31st. It is a family affair for them and for us it is an affair to remember. It is incredible to watch their houses being converted from the normal to the abnormal. Let’s just say it is not as easy as looks and I am happy that they are doing instead of me. Especially after watching The American Scream.

Remember James Best?
October 27th, 2012 under Michael Damian. [ Comments: none ]

James Best came out to support his son-in-law Michael Damian, and he looks just like he did when he played Rosco on The Dukes of Hazzard. Can you believe he is 86 years young because he looks just like he did in the early ’80s show!

Tonight at 9p Rise of the Zombies takes it first bite on Syfy and you don’t want to miss this movie. The Zombies have taken over the world, and some scientists and their friends have taken over Alcatraz to find a cure. Only problem is that the Zombies have figured out how to swim and they have arrived at the inescapable prison. Will they survive or will the world’s only hope become like a majority of the earth’s citizens. You have to tune into find out.
Rise of the Zombies stars Danny Trejo, Mariel Hemingway, Levar Burton, French Stewart, and Ethan Suplee. Besides having a cool cast to look at, the special effects really make this telemovie. I especially loved watching people transform into Zombies, something that is rarely shown in these Walker flicks!

The Good Witch’s Charm is charming
October 27th, 2012 under Hallmark. [ Comments: none ]

Catherine Bell is back as The Good Witch for her fifth time on Hallmark Channel tonight at 9p and the telemovie is as charming as the first four.
Cassie (Bell) is now the Mayor of Middleton and she is getting the attention of a travel site. A reporter (Geordie Johnson) interviews her on camera, and he catches something that makes her an internet sensation. Now he is doing everything he can to get another and bigger story about her and the town. That is really easy for him to do because there is someone stealing things from all of the stores. No one knows who this mystery person is and Cassie better find them before the town turns against her.
Besides having to deal with all of the stress of being the Mayor, she is also adjusting to being a new mom. Plus she is planning a family trip and her foster mom has come into town to visit her.
Even under all of this pressure, somehow she keeps her cool and we get another charming movie with The Good Witch’s Charm.

Haven filmed in a real haunted house tonight!
October 26th, 2012 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p on Syfy Haven is not only about a haunted house, it is actually filmed in one. Audrey, Nathan, Duke and Claire look into a house where a young woman says that her boyfriend disappeared. Once they are in the house strange things start to happen and Audrey realizes she has been there before as Lucy. She will start to remember things that happened back then and she will have a breakthrough that will change everything for her and us. You will have to tune in to find out what that is and for a haunting episode.
Now when it comes to actually making the episode. I was on a call with Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour, and they talked about what it was like filming in that house:

Emily Rose: It’s very scary and we were actually warned before we filmed in the location that it was a haunted location.
Eric Balfour: Yes.
Emily Rose: Nothing really happened to us while we were there…
Eric Balfour: That’s not true.
Emily Rose: Well, okay.
Eric Balfour: I got knocked on my ass at that house and had a bruise the size of my face…
Lucas Bryant: Oh, yeah.
Eric Balfour: …on my left butt cheek.
Emily Rose: That is true and you took me out in the process.
Eric Balfour: Yes. The ground underneath that house literally sucked my leg out from underneath me, threw me on the ground and then took out Emily with it. That wasn’t my fault.
They added:
Lucas Bryant: Yes, it was claustrophobic.
Emily Rose: Yes, it was creepy.
Eric Balfour: And this location was a old…
Eric Balfour: …I think it was like a old brick – like an old railway hotel and…
Lucas Bryant: It was a brothel.
Eric Balfour: Yes, perhaps maybe a brothel.
Lucas Bryant: It was a whorehouse and all these…
Lucas Bryant: This place was in Nova Scotia’s most famous whorehouse.
Eric Balfour: There was a mass murder that actually took place in the house.
Emily Rose: No.
Eric Balfour: I don’t know.
Lucas Bryant: We don’t know about that.
Eric Balfour: I’m making this up as I go.
Lucas Bryant: But I – but you could – you know, it was definitely a creepy joint and we did get a visit from the paranormal society that tried to warn us off shooting there but we don’t take any advice from anyone. And we risked life and limb to bring you this…
Eric Balfour: Yes.
Lucas Bryant: Terrifying…
Eric Balfour: Yes, apparently, the cast of Ghost Hunters International, another Syfy show, wouldn’t even come to this house, they were too afraid.
