The special edition of The Aristocats is purrfect
August 22nd, 2012 under DVD. [ Comments: none ]

The Aristocats is available as a Blu-ray Combo Pack now and you will want to own this Disney Musical that is something to purr about. Duchess is a rich cat and the mother of three kittens, and her master’s butler has a plan to kidnap them all for the money. It is up to alley cat Thomas O’Malley and his buddies to stop this from happening. In the process all of these cats will become cool cats to each other. The sweet tail, I mean tale, is told with music that you won’t be able to get out of your head. So why not own it, so that you can sing along with the pussy cats whenever you want.
Along with the beautifully remastered movie, you get several enjoyable special features. My favorite one was the animated story of cats came to be in The Great Cat Family. It is also interesting to hear about the songs that didn’t make movie and see how they would’ve been incorporated into the film.
Here are the special features included with the 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack (1 Disc Blu-ray + 1 Disc DVD):
§ The Lost Open: legendary songwriter Richard Sherman introduces an early story board iteration of an opening scene complete a deleted character named “the Maid” and demos for the deleted songs “How Much You Mean to Me” and “Court Me Slowly.”
§ “Oui Oui Marie” Music Video
§ Deleted Song – “She Never Felt Alone”: This deleted song, complete with animation, will tug at the heartstrings of any animal lover, as Duchess explains to Thomas O’ Malley why she must return to her beloved owner Madame Bonfamille. Richard Sherman discusses the song he co-wrote with his brother Robert, which captures the special relationship between a pet owner and their animal. It’s a moving sequence that will stir everyone’s fondest memories of their favorite pets.
§ The Sherman Brothers: The Aristocats of Disney Songs: A tribute to the legendary Disney songwriting team of Robert and Richard Sherman, with particular emphasis on “The Aristocats.”
§ The Great Cat Family (Excerpt): This animated excerpt tells the history of cats from ancient Egyptians to the present.
§ The Classic Disney short “Bath Day”: Figaro has been freshly bathed and perfumed by Minnie when he meets up with Lucifer and his gang who chase him. In the ensuing fight, the gang is fooled into beating up Lucifer and making Figaro the winner. But the victor is soon putback in the tub by Minnie.
§ Disney Song Selection:
o “The Aristocats”
o “Scales and Arpeggios”
o “Thomas O’Malley Cat”
o “Ev’rybody Wants To Be A Cat”

BTWF ads: Bruce Willis for Levi’s 501 Jeans
August 22nd, 2012 under Before They Were Famous, Bruce Willis. [ Comments: none ]

Before Brice Willis was dancing in Blind Date, he was dancing for Levi’s 501 Jeans. How cute was the 28 year old in that 1984 commercial?

Tyra Banks teaches Jimmy Fallon how to Booty-Tooch
August 22nd, 2012 under Jimmy Fallon, Tyra Banks. [ Comments: none ]

Remember a few years ago when Tyra Banks came up with Smizing (smiling with your eyes) for America’s Next Top Model? Well now her new thing is Booty-Tooch and she demonstrated the correct way to do it on Late Night. She made Jimmy Fallon pose with his butt sticking out and then she told him to move his hips around and around. When he did that he reminded me of Dana Carvey doing the Church Lady dance. Don’t you agree with me?

Dana Delaney’s kiss left Kelsey Grammer speechless
August 22nd, 2012 under David Letterman. [ Comments: none ]

Kelsey Grammer was on The Late Show the other night and he told David Letterman about the time he auditioned for a role with Dana Delaney back when they were in their early 20s. She told him that the scene called for a kiss and that they should just do it. Well he agreed and when it came time to do it, he was so taken back by it that he choked. Not on her tongue that was down his throat, but as in he forgot all of his lines from that point on. He did not get the part, but she did. I guess we now know that the Body of Proof star has a magic kiss!

This a warning before you take your kids to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green
August 22nd, 2012 under Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

So you know how parents fast forward the scenes where Bambi and Nemo’s moms die because they want their kids to be upset? Well looks like someone should’ve given parents a warning like that before they took their poor innocent children to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Geoff and Heather took their two sons to see the “feel good movie” and Aaron and Seth were so upset about it that they couldn’t stop crying. I know I should feel bad for them, but I can’t stop watching that video and thinking just how cute it is.
Now granted it is precious when they react like that at their age, but Jimmy Kimmel Live was able to show what it would be like if they reacted that same way in 25 years. Not as cute, right? Or is it???
