Yesterday on Jimmy Kimmel Live the ABC late night host asked if the Uggie we saw in the Oscar winning film was the same dog that was making the rounds during Awards season because the film dog had different markings than the one who was all over Hollywood these last few months. So since the popular pup was on his show the week before the Academy Awards, he brought the dog’s owner on to the show to get the truthful answer. The answer is…Uggie had two other standins (Dash and Dude) in the movie and since one of them had a longer marking, they painted one on Uggie for continuity reason. So the Uggie scandal is done for now…or is it???
The TV Lands Awards hosted by Kelly Ripa are coming on April 29th and this year they are honoring two huge ’70s sitcom. Hot in Cleveland star Valerie Bertinelli will be reunited with , Bonnie Franklin, Mackenzie Phillips, Glenn Scarpelli and Pat Harrington to accept the Innovator Award. The show was the first one to feature a divorced woman raising her two kids, something that was taboo in the day. Also being honored is Laverne & Shirley and showing up to receive the Fan Favorite Award will be Penny Marshall, Cindy Williams, Michael McKean and David L. Lander. There is one more honor that was announced today and that is the Pop Culture Award that will go to Pee Wee Herman. Personally I think he is more in Pop Culture for something that is not related to Pee Wee’s Playhouse, but still he was a staple in many of our lives as we grew up for the show.
Now when it comes to the honors, I am so excited to see what Glenn Scarpelli looks like because I had such a huge crush on him when I was growing up.
ABC announced today that Katie Couric is going to debut on September 10th, but they did not say what time it will be airing. I am hoping the lack of air time means that General Hospital still has a chance of coming back for another season. I like many others think it would be a huge mistake if it was cancelled, but then again the network made the mistake of cancelling All My Children and One Life to Live for a two sh!tty talk shows. So who knows what they will do. On a positive note the idiot who made all the stupid decisions is no longer with the network, so hopefully they will do some smart in his absence.

Earlier in the week I posted a picture of Mathew Broderick with a thin mustache and now we know why he did. He is working on a show called Nice Work If You Can Get It, and I am not sure that is the case. Seriously after seeing these pictures, it is going to take me a while to watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off the same way again. I mean could you ever imagine Ferris doing the stuff that Broderick is doing in these photos? Cameron maybe, but not Ferris.
