CBS announced today that it has picked up The Young and the Restless for three more years! The isn’t really a surprise because it has been the #1 daytime drama for 22 years, but in these times when soaps have been leaving the airwaves one a year it is great to read when one is renewed! Congrats to Y&R and let’s hope all the ABC soaps get long-term pick ups soon too since NBC’s Days of our Lives was picked up for two more earlier in the month.
ABC and AMPAS announced today that Anne Hathaway and James Franco are going to host the Oscars. Are you saying what I am saying and that is “WTF?” I get Anne Hathaway is Hollywood’s darling and did a great opening number with Hugh Jackman two years ago. But why James Franco? What has he done that makes him worthy of such an important job? I hated him on General Hospital and personally think he comes off as a pompous a$$ during televised and written interviews. So I am assuming that he probably gave the producers something from Pineapple Express to get the job? Seriously I am dumbfounded why they asked him to do such a big job. Plus I wonder how many of Hollywood’s other elite are going to feel that he got the honor before him.
I really never thought they could top Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin hosting, but they did. I am scared for this year’s Oscars on February 27th, what about you?
Tonight at 9p on Lifetime Garth Brooks’ song Unanswered Prayers comes to life in the movie of the same name. Samantha Mathis and Eric Close are high school sweethearts who have the perfect marriage until his ex-girlfriend comes back to town. Once Eric starts talking to ex played by Mädchen Amick he realizes he still has unresolved feelings for her and the feeling is mutual. Will he destroy his perfectly happy marriage and family to be with what could’ve been or will he stay will the love of his life? Tune in to grat song that inspired a movie.
