NBC has picked up three of their shows, Parks and Recreation, Community and Mercy for a full season. Yay, NBC is sticking with 3 of their 4 scripted programs which is great for us and them, since they gave 5 hours to Jay Leno. They need more scripted programming, not less.
So with the NBC sticking with these three shows, I wonder if that means Chuck will return to Mondays after Trauma (I assume) ends its 13 episode run and Parenthood will air on Fridays? Unless Parenthood will replace Heroes when it ends it shortened run and they will pair it with Chuck?
When it comes to the shows that were picked up, I really like Parks and Recreation because I think Aziz Ansari is funny as all heck. And as much as I wanted to hate Mercy because I can’t stand Michelle Trachtenberg, I actually like it. What do you think of NBC’s new shows?
USA continues its trend of great dramas with White Collar tonight at 10p. The show is about a White Collar criminal, Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) who escapes from prison to stop his wife from saying goodbye to him and gets caught by the FBI agent, Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) who arrested him. When Neal gives Peter a tip on a case he is investigating, Peter gets him released from jail to help him solve the crime and a new partnership is born. Peter sets Caffrey up in a shelter, but Caffrey is such a charmer he actually convinces a wealthy widow to move in to her gorgeous apartment and let him wear her late husband’s clothes. And can I tell you how hot Matt Boomer looks in his clothes! Besides solving crimes both of them help each other with their love relationships, and Peter needs all the help he can get with his wife, Elizabeth Burke (Tiffani Thiessen).
White Collar is a charming show that you will have you committed from the second you tune in. And did I mention Matt Boomer is extremely easy on the eyes?
It has been 5 seasons since Bitty Schram played Sharona on Monk and tonight on USA at 9p she is back to reprise her role one last time. As much as I will enjoy having her back, it is bittersweet because it is just another reminder that this really is Monk’s last season. I so love this show and wish it wasn’t ending.
BTW when it comes to which one of Monk’s assistants I like better, I say Natalie hands down is my favortie.

What happened to Gwen Stefani? It is like she turned 40 and became a different person. I totally didn’t recognize her. Even though the caption says it is her, I still don’t believe it. She looks more like a cross between Christina Aguilera and Carrie Underwood than she does herself. It can’t just be because she is wearing a much lighter lipstick and her hair is different, so you tell me what it is??? It is not that she looks bad, it is just that she doesn’t she look like herself.
TNT is thinking of doing a The CW by bringing an old show in to the millennium. According to TV Guide Magazine, Larry Hagman and Linda Grey have been approached to reprise their roles on an updated version of Dallas. The show, “would focus on their hunky son, John Ross, and Pam and Bobby’s kid, Christopher—with the original players taking on the Jock/Miss Ellie–like supporting grandparent roles.” At this point neither actor has seen a script and won’t agree to do it before then. Linda Grey says she doesn’t want to play an old granny in frumpy clothers, but a powerhouse.
After 90210 and Melrose Place, I don’t think we need a new Dallas. Especially because if by some miracle it did well they probably would bring Dynasty and Knot’s Landing and all of these shows need to stay in ’80s.
One last Dallas note, if you are going to have Bobby’s kids on the show, you need to start off the series with Patrick Duffy in the shower thinking the last few decades have been a dream. Then maybe I would watch.
