Thomas Calabro talks about The CW’s Melrose Place!
September 7th, 2009 under Beverly Hills 90210 / Melrose Place. [ Comments: none ]

Melrose Place is going to premiere on The CW tomorrow at 9p and one of the original cast members, Thomas Calabro who is back for the new one, dished to me about it. He shared with me what it was like to have his first meeting with the new show runners about high stakes show and getting back on the new but old set. Unlike the Fox version he has son on this one and that is not the only change we are going to see for Dr Mancini. He is definitely not the same Michael we are used to seeing and that is a very good thing! So when I asked what we can expect from the upcoming season of the show, he told me “It’s going to be great! By all indications, as far as my experience 32 years in the business, this is going to be a big fat great show.” And after watching the first two episodes of the most talked about new show of the season, I can tell you he is spot on.
So check out the rest of the interview above to see what else we will see from the new Melrose Place and don’t forget to watch it tomorrow on The CW at 9p. Believe you don’t want to miss a second of it because so much is going to happen and you will want to watch it all go down!

BTWF roles: Thomas Calabro in Lady Killers
September 7th, 2009 under Before They Were Famous, Beverly Hills 90210 / Melrose Place. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at 2:30 in)

Before Thomas Calabro was asking his patients to take off their clothes for him as Dr Mancini on Melrose Place, he was a cop going undercover as a stripper in Ladykillers. Boy did he have some really good moves back when he was 28 in that 1988 movie.

A deadly carnival ride on General Hospital
September 7th, 2009 under TV Soaps. [ Comments: none ]

Last week’s General Hospital has all been leading up to tomorrow’s deadly carnival ride on ABC. But the ride is not the one that came with the carnival, but actually a drugged by Andrea, Edward Quatermaine plowing into the carnival goers with his car. Most of the people we love in Port Charles came out to honor a charity set up for Michael, but not all of them will leave alive. One resident will die, but who it is we won’t know until it starts playing out tomorrow.
I wonder who it will be? I just really hope it is not Jake because how many kids can you take away from poor Jason. Although I kind have my wishes who it should be because some of the recent castings have not been working for me!
BTW GH is the best when it comes to these thrilling storylines. So make sure to check it out tomorrow on ABC when a carnival that should be a happy place turns into a sad one.

Make Were the World Mine yours tonight
September 7th, 2009 under VH1/MTV. [ Comments: none ]

“Were the World Mine” tells the story of Timothy: a bullied gay student at an all-boy private high school struggling to fit in with his peers while helping his mother accept his sexuality. Things seem all the makings of a Shakespearian tragedy for Timothy until the school play is announced by his mystical, bohemian English teacher, Ms. Tebbit (Wendy Robie, Twin Peaks). Timothy is cast as “Puck” in the school’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” allowing him to get closer to his crush Jonathan, a straight jock, who is cast as one of the play’s lead roles. As an escape from the cruel realities of high school, Timothy transcends into a world of song and spectacle. However, Timothy’s life crosses the boundaries of reality and fantasy when he follows a “Cupid’s love” potion in his script and quickly discovers that anyone sprayed by this mystical potion falls in love with the first person of the same sex they see. Before long, the streets in Timothy’s homophobic town are inundated with lovelorn gay and lesbian couples, creating mayhem amongst his friends, family and neighbors. Both the town and Timothy learn a lesson in tolerance and ultimate acceptance as Timothy tries to repair the mischief he unleashed.

Were the World Mine premieres tonight at 9p on Logo and you don’t need a flower with a magical potion to convince you to watch this movie. The musical is a re-imagination of the William Shakespeare classic A Midsummer’s Night Dream and for the first time I enjoyed the story. I think a big reason why I loved it so much is the wonderful acting by the cast and the beautiful songs. Tanner Cohen plays Timothy and he has a voice that even the faeries would be jealous of. The musical numbers make you want to run out and buy the soundtrack because you are going to want to listen to them over and over again! Putting the music aside, the movie also tells the sweet love stories between a mom and her son, a boy and his friends, a boy and his crush and the whole town in love with each other!
So when you come home tonight sad that the summer has come to an end, put on Logo at 9p and watch Were the World Mine to put a smile on your face again!
