Super suave Mad Men star Jon Hamm will go from the small screen to the big screen in The Town according to Variety. The Town will be directed by Ben Affleck, who is also starring in it!
Affleck is directing, and playing a bank robber who becomes smitten with the teller of a bank he held up. She makes him want to go straight, but she is also the FBI's golden ticket to catching Boston's most wanted bank robber.
Hamm plays the FBI agent who also becomes infatuated with the bank employee, played by Rebecca Hall.
This movie sounds like it is going to be so much fun with lots of twist and turns and lots of hysterical interactions between Aflleck and Hamm as they try to fight for Hall's affection. I can totally see the chemistry between Affleck and Hamm being as good as Ben's with Matt, don't you? Jon has already proven to me what a beyond talented actor he is, with all the stuff he has done on Mad Men!!!
I can't wait to see this movie that starts filming in Boston next month.
Less than a year ago Quentin Tarantino was casting Inglourious Basterds and a few months away from going to Berlin to film it and today he premiered his WWII well-received epic in the location that he filmed it. Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Melanie Laurent, Til Schweiger and Daniel Bruhl were reunited with him to share his film with the people that were so gracious to them for the many months that they filmed there. Maybe that is why they all so look proud in these pictures, granted from what I am hearing about the film they have a lot to be proud of. I wish it was August 21st so I can see this movie already, I am sick of waiting!
Side note, Daniel Bruhl (the last photo) has to be the cutest actor to ever play a Nazi, is it wrong for me to have those thoughts?
I am at the Cable TCAs and I am blogging about George Lopez’s show, so if it is out of order it is because I am live blogging it!!
George Lopez goes from sitcom success to try his hand at a talk show on TBS at 11p. He is happy to bring it to cable because it the right place for him. Back when Arsenio Hall has his own late night talk show, George was on it over 20 times and he is asking Arsenio for advice. Lopez is also real and realizes that his toughest competition will be novelas, he knows he won’t win that battle.
The show will have that feeling it will be taped outside, but in reality it will tape on a set on the Warner Bros lot in Burbank. They were getting too many complaints from Two and a Half Men when they were taping outside, so they recreated the outside look inside.
George says that his show might not always start with a monologue if the guest is big enough he will open with them. He wants his show to be open and like a party. He wants his guests to feel welcome. He will try to keep his show current by going as close to air time as possible.
When asked how he is prepping for his interview skills, he said, “he will be spending August at the University of Phoenix”. LOL! His past experience with being a popular talk show guest has prepared him for doing interviews.
I am looking forward to seeing what he can do with his show, so remember to check him out in November on TBS when it starts to air.
Before Alicia Silverstone was Clueless, she knew what she wanted on Wonder Years. Seriously she looks the same now as she did when she was 15 in that 1992 episode.
