U2 is beginning a week of performances on CBS’s David Letterman tonight, but before they even played their first note Letterman put them to work. NY was hit by a late snow storm yesterday and the late night host made them shovel his sidewalk. If I were U2, I tell him another 2 word phrase that has U in it…FU!
Sarah Silverman's show The Sarah Silverman Program on Comedy Central has not been picked up for a third season yet. When Comedy Central offered the show a renewal but with a 20% cut per episode, the show's producers and Sarah said no thanks according to The Hollywood Reporter.
At the center of the holdup is the proposed budget for Season 3. Citing cuts imposed on the network by parent company MTV Networks, Comedy Central had proposed that the trio bring back the WGA Award-nominated show at about $850,000 an episode, sources said, down from the $1.1 million an episode for the show's second season. In broadcast, single-camera comedies are produced for about $1.5 million-$2 million an episode, and the budget for any series normally climbs from year to year. Amid the economic woes, ABC Studios and 20th TV asked all of their showrunners to cut 2% of their series budgets. The proposed budget cut on "Sarah Silverman" is more than 10 times that. Concerned they won't be able to maintain the integrity of the show at the discounted price, Silverman on behalf of the three executive producers, informed the network late last week that they can't proceed with a third season.
If I were Comedy Central I would tell the producers and Sarah Silverman that in times likes these a 20% cut is better than a 100% cut. They should be grateful for the work, not threatening to quit.
I don't know about you guys, but I have I tried to watch TSSP and I am shocked there is that much money put in to each episode because it looks and feels so cheap. And personally I don't think it is funny, but hey that is me.
Hey Comedy Central tell the show take it or leave because there were a bunch of people at yesterday's Roast that are funnier and more deserving of a show.
UPDATE: Sadly Sarah Silverman and her producers got their way and even more money per episode according to The Hollywood Reporter. Logo will co-finance the show, hopefully they will get their money’s worth.
Will Ferrell is back doing another hysterical video on Funny or Die and anyone who suffered through Bewitched will appreciate it!
Will Ferrell is shooting his new movie Eastbound & Down with The Office’s Craig Robinson, and the two decided to have fun and made this video when they were done shooting for the day! The two were fascinated with all the fake bats on the set, so they improvised a song called Bat Fight and as you can see also decided to act it out!!!
That was way too funny, but maybe it is because I am such a sadist and that video totally played into what I like!!!
Rob Lowe was told to lay low on the sun tanning according to WENN.
He says, "I got a phone call from the president of ABC who said, 'You're getting too dark. Seriously, stay out of the sun.' I go, 'I'm not tanning. I'm active. I surf and I kayak.'"
And Lowe blames his pale co-stars for him now having to slather on the sunscreen before stepping outside.
He adds, "If you stand next to Calista Flockhart, anybody's going to look like (singer) Harry Belafonte. I wear (sunscreen) over my entire face and a hat that has a chin strap. I look like the biggest idiot."
I think Stephen McPherson, the head of ABC is making a big mistake because Rob Lowe's tan really brings out his gorgeous blue eyes. I think if anything Calista Flockhart should get some sun before Rob stops.
Before he was the dead guy that just wouldn’t go away on Grey’s Anatomy and Supernatural, he was very much alive in Undercover Heat. How young does the 19 year old actor look back in 1995? He kind of looks a little like his TV son on Supernatural, Jensen Ackles back then, don’t you think? I guess you can say the Supernatural casting directors did a really good job casting him in the role of The Winchester Boys’ dad!!!
