Once again the Judges got their way and the person they wanted to win won and the viewers had no choice but to accept it. Brooke Burke went home with the mirror ball trophy that the Judges handed her, but the viewers did not.
Here is ABC’s explaination of the voting system…
THE PROCEDURE FOR ELIMINATING COUPLES:
Each week every couple receives points from the judges and votes from the public. For every couple we work out the share they got of the points given by the judges on the night, and the share they got of the public’s votes on the night and we add these two shares together. The couple with the lowest combined total is eliminated from the show.
For example if couple A, B and C receive 38, 26 and 14 points from the judges, we calculate what share these points represent of the total awarded by the judges on the night. In this case the judges gave 78 points in total, and each couples’ share of 78 points breaks down as follows: 38= 48.72% of 78, 26= 33.33% of 78, 14= 17.95% of 78. Let’s suppose that when the public votes are tallied, each couple has the following shares: A= 20%, B=40%, C=40%. To determine who’s eliminated we combine these two shares for the total:
Couple A: 20+48.72%= 68.72%
Couple B: 40+33.33%= 73.33%
Couple C: 40+17.95%= 57.95%
So considering that Brooke got the most points from the Judges, then Lance Bass and finally Warren Sapp was in last place after the third dance. And since Lance Bass who scored higher than Warren with the Judges went out before him that means he was the one who got the top viewers vote over Miss Boring Burke. Which proves that we the viewer had no choice in who won the show that we keep on the air. Something I am seriously considering giving up after this season because 2 seasons in the row the winner was the Judges call and not the viewers. I might not have liked some of the American Idol winners, but at least we had the choice. It would be nice if instead of ABC and the producers adding dances to change up the show, that they figure a way for the viewers to have more of a say. It will help them in the long run because come Monday we won’t care about Brooke Burke again unless it is their plan to have her replace Samantha Harris??? Not that we would even notice because they look and host the same.
Warren Sapp that mirror ball trophy was yours in our eyes!!!
Metro Station fresh off of their huge hit Shake It are going to debut the video for their second single Seventeen Forever on FNMTV next Friday at 8p! The video is going to be a family affair for Trace Cyrus. That last name should sound familiar because his sister is Miley and his stepdad is Billy Ray and both are in the video. In fact Metro Station was created on the Hannah Montana set when Trace was introduced to Mason Musso by their moms. How cool is that?
But forgetting the family connection, Metro Station is really awesome. You can hear some of the tunes off their debut self-titled album on Metro Station’s MySpace. Once you hear Seventeen Forever you will be as excited as I am to watch the music video premiere next week on FNMTV. Just to wet your lips a little bit more, here are some exclusive pictures of Trace Cyrus, Mason Musso and Blake Healy from the music video shoot for Seventeen Forever!!!
