Jon Lovitz is my hero!!!
July 18th, 2007 under Andy Dick, Jon Lovitz. [ Comments: none ]

Jon Lovitz has done what so many people have wanted to do…he beat the sh!t of Andy Dick according to Page Six!!!

Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada, who witnessed the assault, said, "Jon picked Andy up by the head and smashed him into the bar four or five times, and blood started pouring out of his nose." Lovitz told Page Six, "All the comedians are glad I did it because this guy is a [bleep]hole."

Lovitz and Dick have been at loggerheads since a 1997 Christmas party at Hartman's house, five months before his troubled wife Brynn flipped out, fatally shooting Hartman, then killing herself. "Andy was doing cocaine, and he gave Brynn some after she had been sober for 10 years. Phil was furious about it – and then five months later he's dead," said Lovitz, adding that when he filled in on Hartman's "Newsradio" sitcom, "I told Andy, 'I wouldn't be here now if you hadn't given Brynn that cocaine.' "

Last year, Lovitz related, a drunken Dick strolled up to his table at Ago in West Hollywood, rudely downed his guests' peach liqueur drinks, and "looked at me and said, 'I put the "Phil Hartman hex" on you – you're the next one to die.' I said, 'What did you say?' and he repeated it. I wanted to punch his face in, but I don't hit women."

When the two ran into each other at the Laugh Factory last Wednesday, "I wanted him to say he was sorry for the 'Phil Hartman hex,' " Lovitz told us. "First he says, 'I don't remember saying that.' Then he leans in and says, 'You know why I said it? Because you said I killed Phil Hartman.' Which I never said. Then he asked me to be in his new movie.

"I grabbed him by the shirt and leaned him over and said, 'I don't want to be in your movie! I don't want to be in your life!' I pushed him against the rail. Then I pushed him again really hard. A security guard broke it up. I'm not proud of it . . . but he's a disgusting human being." Dick's rep said he had no comment.

It is amazing that Andy Dick has gone this long without getting an a$$ whooping before this.

House adds to it’s cast
July 18th, 2007 under Lisa Edelstein/Hugh Laurie/House. [ Comments: 1 ]

At the end of last season House fired or lost all his employees, so now he will have to replace them. Fox announced today that 5 actors were cast to audition for the job of being part of House's fellowship.
Olivia Wilde (“The Black Donnellys,” “The O.C.”), Kal Penn (24, “The Namesake,” “Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle”), Peter Jacobson (“The Starter Wife,” “Law & Order”), Anne Dudek (“Big Day”) and Edi Gathegi (“Lincoln Heights,” “Gone Baby Gone”) play candidates for a fellowship opportunity with Dr. House. The actors have been cast for an undetermined number of episodes.
I am not sure how I feel about the changes to the show, I liked it just the way it was. Every year Fox tries to add something new to the show like Chi McBride, Sela Ward and David Morse and every year it fails. Hopefully they will learn not to mess with a good thing for season 5, but in the meantime let's hope season four works out!!!

Stewart Copeland says no to a new The Police album
July 18th, 2007 under The Police. [ Comments: none ]

If it were up to Andy Summers The Police would record a new CD when (if) the tour finishes, but Stewart Copeland not Sting is the one turning down the opportunity according to IOL

Copeland says, "This tour is going to take us up through February. Another album then means another three months away from home… I don't need to spend three years doing this. At the end of one year we will part as friends.

"Sting and Andy are two of the most important people to me, whom I've abused and had disagreements with, and they are every bit like siblings. This is going to be a great year. Why want more?"

After seeing them live and watching Sting turn their songs into muzak, I am kind of glad that they are not going to do a new CD.

Ace Ventura 3 without Ace Ventura
July 18th, 2007 under Stupid Sequels/Remakes. [ Comments: none ]

Why oh why are they making Ace Ventura 3 without Jim Carrey? Didn't they learn anything from Evan Almighty? Variety is reporting that Morgan Creek is making the sequel with John Flitter as Ventura's son who is trying to rescue a baby panda. I think they would have been better off making it a teen movie and giving the movie a different title. This movie has Razzie written all over it…if it actually gets to the big screen?
BTW note to Hollywood, stop making sequels without the leads…stop making movies turned into Broadway musicals into movies…and stop remaking movies that don't need to be remade.
