Seriously? OMG! WTF?

Looks like "Evil Dead The Musical" won’t survive in New York much longer: The Gotham tuner shutters Feb. 17. Although it attracted a small cult of fans of the camp-horror 1980s Sam Raimi pics on which it is based, the comically bloody "Evil Dead" stage show never attracted large enough crowds to sustain a long life. The show began perfs Oct. 2 and opened Nov. 1. Still, original cast recording is on tract for release this spring. And producers say they plan to roll out a tour as well as sit-down productions in other cities. When it closes, "Evil Dead" will have played 126 regular perfs and 34 previews at New World Stages.

I guess it didn’t take eating brains to figure out this was destined to fail. I am shocked it lasted as long as it did.

Fox has greenlit a direct-to-DVD sequel to the 1984 Tom Hanks comedy “Bachelor Party,” with James Ryan directing from a script by Jay Longino. Production is scheduled to begin filming late-March in Miami. Engaged to Melinda after only knowing her for a couple months, Ron is treated to the ultimate bachelor party in Florida, courtesy of Melinda’s scheming brother-in-law Todd, in an attempt to sabotage his relationship with Melinda. Fully ready to party but determined to remain true to Melinda, Ron must endure temptation after temptation if he wants to remain engaged.

Seriously who is the person doing or what pictures do they have in order to get the go ahead to make this film? At least Val Kilmer is going to be in the sequel of Real Genius!

 

Teri Polo is set to reprise her role as Ben Stiller’s wife in "Meet the Little Focker," the third installment of the movie franchise. "I think he cast me in the role because I play a great straight man," she said. "Actually, I think I’m funnier off-camera." Polo worked with Robert DeNiro in the 2004 sequel, "Meet the Fockers," and in 2000 in the original "Meet the Parents." "I literally glued myself to his side because I didn’t know if I ever was going to get this opportunity again," she said of their collaboration. "I asked him what was more difficult — comedy or drama — and it surprised me when he said it’s basically the same thing. It’s all in the way you deliver the line." Polo, a 37-year-old divorced mother of a young son, can next be seen playing a cynical divorce attorney who finds love with her legal opposition in "Love is a Four Letter Word," airing Saturday on the Hallmark Channel.

I am so over Ben Stiller. DeNiro and Teri Polo were great in both movies, but seriously is there a need for a third one. What are they have her pregnant and their families dealing with it?

 

An ABC spokesperson confirms for TVGuide.com that J.J. Abrams’ What About Brian will now air only 19 episodes this season, as opposed to 22. The rep, though, stresses that the abbreviated run is "no reflection on the show in any way." Rather, "ABC had no room on the schedule for those [three episodes], so it was decided to pull back."

Seriously this show is amazing! Right now they are doing a storyline about the daughter of two of the characters being diagnosed as deaf and they are figuring out how to deal with it. It is so touching and it would be great to see a show be able to tackle the topic for the long term. Hint hint ABC, don’t cancel the show. 

Legendary author Sidney Sheldon has died from pneumonia, his publicist told AFP, after a prolific career that saw him pen Oscar-winning screenplays and sell over 300 million books. He was 89. The world-famous novelist died at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, southern California, his publicist of 25 years Warren Cowan said. "Sidney passed away this afternoon," Cowan told AFP. "He was a beautiful man and a beautiful friend." Cowan said Sheldon’s wife Alexandra and daughter Mary Sheldon were by the author’s side. "He was in every sense a first-class human being," Cowan said. "I was his friend and his publicist for over 25 years. "I never heard anyone speak ill of him. I would travel all over the world and hear only good things about Sidney. He was a wonderful, wonderful man." Born in 1917 to a German Jewish father and a Russian Jewish mother, Sheldon’s writing career began in Hollywood at the age of 20 where he worked on scripts and movies, earning 17 dollars a week. It was the start of one of the most successful literary careers of the 20th century that would see him become the most translated writer in the world, his works available in 51 languages and sold in 108 countries. Sheldon would also become the only writer to have won an Oscar, a Tony and an Edgar award, and was eventually the recipient of several prestigious honors which included a writing prize at France’s Deauville film festival.
