Jobless Kevin Federline, who recently lost his only job of being the world’s most talked about husband, is now in talks to take part in the next series of the reality show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. The self-styled aspiring rapper has been offered 150,000 pounds to take part in the Channel 4 reality show. The producers hope the 28-year-old will live up to expectations and wow viewers with his outrageous antics and perform some of his cringeworthy "raps". "Kevin is hugely entertaining because he takes himself really seriously – even though no one else does. He’ll be great for the show because it’s all about larger-than-life characters," the Sun quoted an insider as saying. Other rumoured names for the next series of the Channel 4 reality show include Baywatch star David Hasselhof and 80s singer Adam Ant.
NBC has ordered three additional scripts of freshman comedy "30 Rock," which got off to a lackluster start despite critical praise. The order follows a three-script pickup the show received last month, bringing the total to six additional scripts. Created by and starring Tina Fey, "30 Rock" is set behind the scenes of a late-night sketch comedy show. Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan and Jane Krakowski co-star. It was moved from Wednesday to Thursday last week and averaged just 5.2 million viewers for a 40-minute episode. "30 Rock" is one of three Nielsen-challenged new NBC series that received an order for three more scripts last month. The other two, the dramas "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and "Friday Night Lights," have since been picked up for a full season. Meanwhile, "30 Rock" and ABC’s drama "The Nine" are the only two freshman series whose fate is still up in the air. "Nine," which was a given an order for four additional scripts last month, is struggling in the Wednesday 10 p.m. time slot and looks unlikely to continue beyond its original order.
I have new details on why Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are less than pleased with what went down tonight at the American Music Awards. As E! Online reported earlier this evening, Spears was a surprise presenter at the AMAs and went on right after a comedy bit that featured a K-Fed look-a-like being put in a box and dropped in a river. Spears is said to be upset because no one told her beforehand about the skit. Members of her camp apparently demanded that the skit be cut from the West Coast feed of the show. It wasn’t. K-Fed is less than thrilled, too. His people called and “were freaking out,” a source tells me. So who came up with the spoof? The host of the awards, Jimmy Kimmel. I’m told that it was planned and produced long before Spears signed on for the show. “Britney was a last second add to the show,” my source says. Kimmel isn’t exactly apologizing. He told me shortly after the show, “I knew they wouldn’t mind because I know they both have great senses of humor.” The former lovebirds may not be laughing, but most of the audience was. I was there in the Shrine Auditorium. Even though there were some gasps because of its crudeness, an overwhelming majority of people were laughing and cheering during the skit. Spears and Kimmel have a history of joking together. A few years ago, Spears appeared on Kimmel’s show laying in a stretcher after an internet rumor at the time wrongly claimed that the pop star was hospitalized because of a drug overdose. Reps for Spears, Federline, and the AMAs could not be immediately reached for comment.
Kate Moss is furious that Pete Doherty is back in with his old junkie crew. She sees them as a bad influence and has offered her lover an ultimatum: “Stop seeing them or you’re dumped.” Kate — who has stopped wearing the ring Doherty gave her — has had enough of his recent self destructive behaviour, which includes being arrested at the weekend. One pal tells us: “He’s one step away from ripping the implant which helps him stay off heroin out of his arm and going back on the smack.” The friend said Kate hasn’t always seen eye-to-eye with Pete’s band, Babyshambles, “but they are united on this”. Doherty has started hanging around with two notoriously bad influences on him. One, known as The General, “looked after” Pete when he spent two months in Pentonville for burglary last year. The second is musician Peter Wolfe, known as Wolfman. The pal continued: “We’ve tried to keep him away from the bad influences. For a while he wasn’t seeing any of the old dodgy crowd. These are the people he was hanging around with at the depths of his addictions, when he was really f***ed up. But he’s back in touch with his old friends and is hanging around the East End driving his beaten-up Jaguar, off his head.” Doherty, 27, was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of possessing crack cocaine after police saw him driving erratically in east London at 8.20am. Two other people in the car, Peter Wolfe and a mystery 30-year-old woman who was NOT Kate, were also arrested on drug charges and later released on bail. Pete has also been seen hanging around with groupies, which will also come as a blow to La Moss, 32. Our source says: “Pete knows he’s dating the most beautiful woman in the world but even that doesn’t seem to be enough.”
