Jack Nicholson in the hospital?
September 12th, 2006 under Sick Bay. [ Comments: none ]

BEST wishes for a speedy recovery to Jack Nicholson. The winner of three Oscars – 12 nominations total – "checked into an L.A.-area hospital for an infection," a reliable source said yesterday. His agent, Sandy Bresler, said: "I do not comment on Jack’s personal life." No word on whether Nicholson, 69, will be able to promote "The Departed," the Martin Scorsese mob movie bowing Oct. 6, or whether his health will affect "The Bucket List," due to start filming next month.

I wonder with all the negative buzz about The Departed that he would rather be in the hospital than do press for it?

Trouble for Lindsay Lohan and Harry Morton?
September 12th, 2006 under Lindsay Lohan. [ Comments: none ]

IT sounds like there’s trouble in paradise for lovebirds Lindsay Lohan and boyfriend Harry Morton.Professional partygoer Lindsay, who does the odd bit of acting in her spare time, had a furious bust up with Harry after he tired of her flirting with a DJ at a bash on Sunday night. The pair had been invited to swanky Cliveden House, in Berks, by owner Andrew Davis and spent most of the night in a tent sent up by hip London club Boujis. But while Harry, 25, mingled with revellers, wild US star Lindsay, 20, only had eyes for one person – DJ Sam Young who, guests say, she was "all over like a rash".Unsurprisingly, boyfriend of two months Harry – whose billionaire father Peter is the co-founder of the Hard Rock CafÂŽ – wasn’t impressed. He told the Herbie Fully Loaded star off for "not paying him enough attention" while she hit back, telling him that he had to stop "being so insecure".A stunned partygoer reveals: "When they arrived at the bash, they were chatting to everyone. But once in the Boujis tent, Lindsay made a beeline for Sam."She soon got carried away and she and Sam ended up DJing together. Then she began stroking his back and being really playful. At one stage, they even swapped numbers!" Meanwhile, Harry had a face like thunder."He kept trying to drag her away," says a fellow reveller. "In the end, Lindsay got so fed up with him that she went out to the balcony, had a blazing row and gave him a mouthful… then she went back to flirting with Sam."

3am

I guess he no longer has a firm grip on her heart?

Jamiroquai singer arrested for attacking paparazzi
September 12th, 2006 under Arrested, Bad Paparazzi. [ Comments: none ]

Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay has been cautioned for assault after an alleged punch-up with photographers outside a West End nightclub. The 36-year-old pop star was arrested by police after an apparent clash with paparazzi.A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "At approximately 2am this morning an officer on routine patrol in Upper John Street was alerted to a large crowd of people, including photographers, outside a night club."A man approached the officer and alleged he had been assaulted at the scene. A man believed to be in his 30s was arrested in connection with the allegation and he has been taken to a central London police station where he remains in custody."Witnesses said they saw Kay lash out after leaving Kabaret’s Prophecy in Soho with a friend in the early hours of today. He was alleged to have slapped one photographer and punched another in the head three times, before rounding on police with a volley of abuse."He was out of control, really lairy," said an onlooker. "He clearly had too much to drink and just wouldn’t stop."Kay, 36, appeared convinced that the photographers were waiting for him, when in fact they were hoping for a glimpse of actress Lindsay Lohan, who was also inside.According to witnesses, the singer burst out of the bar yelling "monkeys" at the photographers and "squaring up to them".He was said to have demanded of one photographer, "Are you Italian?" before slapping him and yelling: "Well, you aren’t fast enough."He then allegedly turned on another photographer, Alan Chapman, punching him three times in the side of the head and knocking off his glasses. A friend of the 50-year-old, who works for the Matrix picture agency, said he was left with a bloody nose and a huge bruise on his face.Alessandro Copetti, who also works for Matrix, said: "Kay came out of the club, quite visibly drunk and just suddenly launched a vicious attack on us. He kept calling us ‘gay boys from the south’ and said he could take all of us on."Club security men stepped in and bundled the singer into a waiting car – but as it drove away Kay jumped out for a second round of verbal attacks. This time the police got involved. A passer-by said: "He rounded on them as well, yelling, ‘I pay your wages’. One policeman said, ‘well, everyone here pays our wages’ and Jay Kay just came back with some nonsense, like, ‘you all live in poverty you miserable f***ers’."The officers eventually slapped Kay in handcuffs and led him to a waiting van that took him to Savile Row police station.

He must’ve been more pissed they weren’t there for him rather than they were taking his picture.

Why are they calling this crap Lost Boys II?
September 12th, 2006 under Stupid Sequels/Remakes. [ Comments: none ]

The exceedingly busy Joel Schumacher – he has no less than three movies in the works – is returning to the world of parasitical creatures of the night.Cue the Doors music, Dust off the Plastic Fangs, Hunt down Billy Wirth. Yep, the man behind one of the finest vampire flicks of all time, “The Lost Boys” (1987), is returning to the genre that has him atop a plinth.Schumacher will direct “Town Creek”, his first vampire pic since he pit wide-eyed innocent Michael against bleached-blonde vampire, David, in the abovementioned $32 million dollar hit. Unfortunately, it isn’t a sequel. Nor a prequel. Nor a remake.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on a West Virginia man who comes to terms with his moral qualms and helps his brother wipe out a family that had been protecting a Nazi vampire and who had kept his brother captive for him to feed off of for years.Schumacher toyed with the idea of doing a sequel to “The Lost Boys” for many years there. At one stage, he was ready to move on “The Lost Girls”, despite only being attached in a producing capacity. The last we heard of it, Village Roadshow were looking for a writer to put the idea – it was said to follow a family who move to a new town and encounter some female vamps (one of whom was going to be played by Britney Spears) – into script form. They obviously didn’t get much further than that.Another idea, one that producer Richard Donner had, was to do a spin-off featuring the characters of The Frog Brothers – the vampire busting duo played by Corey Haim and Corey Feldman – but the studio didn’t care for it.

Moviehole

I waited 2 decades for this sequel and the only thing these movies have in common is Vampires. So I ask why call it Lost Boys 2 if it has nothing to do with Lost Boys? Why not just call it Town Creek?

Sleep all day
Party all night
Never grow old
Never die
It is fun to be a Vampire. . .But you must feed.

I loved that camaign for the orignal movie!

The Flavorette gets the greenlight from VH1
September 11th, 2006 under VH1/MTV. [ Comments: none ]

VH1 is spinning off a female version of its No. 1 show "Flavor of Love."Cable network has greenlit production on 10 episodes of an untitled series from executive producers Cris Abrego and Mark Cronin that casts one of the eccentric contestants from the first season of "Flavor" in her own dating show."Flavor" continues to rank as VH1’s top-rated original series. A recent episode on Sept. 3 drew a big 3.23 million viewers (1.5 national rating/5 share in 18-49; 1.9/7 in 18-34).Similar to what ABC did with "The Bachelorette," VH1 will air the offshoot on its own next year, likely in the "Flavor" Sunday night timeslot. And, like "Flavor," the producers are casting a "diverse" selection of contestants; in the first episode of "Flavor of Love 2," two of the competing women got into a fistfight over a bed, and another defecated on Flav’s marble floor."We’re able to cast guys you wouldn’t normally see." Abrego said. "We’ve got investment bankers, lawyers, rappers, unemployed guys living at home …The best part is each one believes they have amazing game."Production begins later this month. Season two of "Flavor" concludes Oct. 15.As far as the possibility for a third go-round with Flav, Cronin acknowledged that trying to find the rap star love again might be overkill, and another season might be out of the question. "We are developing new show ideas with him," Abrego said. "We think it’s time for him to do something new. He’s funny and a likeable character."

Variety

Please don’t let it be New York. She is so way over the top this season, I could not handle her having her own show.
