Liza Minnelli 1/David Gest 0 |

A judge threw out a $10 million civil assault lawsuit Monday filed against Liza Minnelli by her estranged husband, David Gest, who claimed she beat him so badly during alcoholic rages he had to be hospitalized. State Supreme Court Justice Jane Solomon granted Minnelli’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit on the ground that Gest’s doctor had failed to rebut the 60-year-old actress-singer’s medical expert, who said Gest’s headaches were caused by a strain of herpes that causes shingles and not by beatings. Gest’s lawyer, Lorraine Nadel, said she would appeal the ruling. She said that although Minnelli’s physician diagnosed Gest’s headaches as being caused by herpes zoster, Gest’s doctor said he tested negative for the virus. "He said it was the beatings," Nadel said Gest’s doctor reported. The 53-year-old Gest, who was in Memphis, Tenn., said through Nadel that he was "shocked" and "stunned" by Solomon’s ruling. Solomon said the only issues remaining in her court are those in which Minnelli claims in a $2 million lawsuit that Gest misappropriated her earnings. Gest has denied that he wrongfully took money from Minnelli and has said she owes him money because of what he spent trying to revive her career. Minnelli and Gest were married March 16, 2002, in a star-studded ceremony with Michael Jackson as best man and Elizabeth Taylor as maid of honor. They separated in July 2003 and filed for divorce later that year. The divorce case is pending before state Supreme Court Judge Harold Beeler. Gest’s lawyers have asked Beeler to order a trial to determine the validity of a prenuptial agreement.

What is interesting is he claimed she gave him the herpes that he says that he doesn’t have that she claimed was the reason for his headaches? Does that make sense?

Was Hasselhoff’s daughter scratched by a cat or did she try to committ suicide? |
September 25th, 2006 under David Hasselhoff/Baywatch. [ Comments: none ]

David Hasselhoff lied to cops when he allegedly called 911 to report that his younger daughter committed suicide according to his estranged wife, Pamela Bach. And Bach tells TMZ Hasselhoff made the call out of pure revenge. TMZ first reported that police and paramedics responded to Hasselhoff’’s 911 call Sunday night. Multiple police sources told TMZ the former "Baywatch" star reported that his younger daughter was "cut" and it was a suicide attempt. Now Pamela Bach tells TMZ that her daughter never attempted suicide and that David knew it. Bach claims David used his daughter as a pawn, telling Bach, "You’re going down. I’m calling the police." Bach says her daughter was scratched by the family cat Sunday night at around 6 p.m. She says her daughter was crying uncontrollably, so she called David and suggested that it might be appropriate for the girl to see a psychologist on Monday. At that point Bach claims David began ranting that he would call the police and bring her down. Bach says at around 8 p.m. the police and paramedics arrived and said that David had called in a suicide attempt, so by law they had to take the girl to the hospital. She was released shortly after arriving there. Hasselhoff’s publicist Judy Katz tells TMZ that Hasselhoff became alarmed when his older daughter called to say her sister was bleeding. Hasselhoff denies telling 911 about a suicide attempt, but his publicist says the 911 operator may have interpreted it that way. Hasselhoff, who was getting ready to board a plane for a fim festival, left town without visiting his daughter. Bach says Hasselhoff deliberately concocted the story to make her look like a bad parent. Hasselhoff denies he even spoke with Bach Sunday night, and says the allegations are false.

MARTIAL arts star Jackie Chan has confessed he appeared in a porn film three decades ago. Jackie, now 52, says he couldn’t turn down the role in dirty movie, All In The Family, because he was penniless. “I had to do anything I could to make a living 31 years ago, but I don’t think it’s a big deal, even Marlon Brando used to be exposed in his movies,” he said. “The porn movie at that time was more conservative than the current films.” Jackie’s big break finally came in Rush Hour in 1998.

Viacom Inc., a media conglomerate that owns MTV and VH1, said Monday that it was cutting the cash salary and bonuses of its chairman and controlling shareholder, Sumner Redstone, and linking most of his compensation with the performance of the company’s stock. The new employment agreement ties Redstone’s pay more closely with the interests of shareholders. It is also in line with similar pay packages the company gave to Philippe Dauman and Thomas Dooley, two longtime confidants of Redstone who recently returned to run the company after Redstone ousted former CEO Tom Freston. Under the new agreement, beginning in 2007, Redstone’s salary will be reduced to $1 million per year from $1.75 million and deferred compensation of $1.3 million per year will be eliminated. Also, Redstone’s target cash bonus will be reduced to $3.5 million per year from $6.1 million. He will also receive an annual award of stock options having a grant-date value of $3 million and an annual award of performance share units with a grant-date target value of $3 million.
