May 19th, 2017 under Galavant, Psych, Sick Bay, Timothy Omundson

Timothy Omundson, 47, took to Twitter yesterday to confirm a rumor about his health. He Tweeted, “My Dear tweet-erers, As you may have heard, I have had a wee touch of a stroke. Thanks for all the ♥️ and well wishes.”

On May 7th, a Facebook fan page broke the news that he suffered a stroke late last month at the Tampa Airport. He was in Florida at the time promoting his movie Carter & June.

Then a day after that post, USA Network announced that they would begin filming the Psych holiday special on May 24th. A source close to the telemovie says that he will still be part of it and the script is being reworked for his recovery.

But then I have to wonder if his health could be the real reason why ABC didn’t pick up his sitcom, Household Name, with Carol Burnett this week. I must add this is pure speculation on my part. When asked why it wasn’t, all the President of Entertainment, ABC, Channing Dungey, said on a conference call is, “Household Name is a project that is still very near and dear to our hearts. I think it is something that we would love to continue developing with. We have had some preliminary conversations with Universal and with the producers, and we will see how that develops.” Hopefully, when he is recovered, ABC will reconsider picking up this show for midseason. Between him and the comedic legend, how could they not have a hit on their hands?

Omundson is an incredible actor with so much natural talent. Besides playing Lassie on Psych, he sang and danced his way into our as the King on Galavant, also he guest starring as Cain, the original murder, on Supernatural, a Donald Trump Jr type on Angie Tribeca’s season premiere and just this week he was seen as Gd on Lucifer.

Hopefully, he will be all better soon because we need more people in Hollywood that can work their magic on the screen like he does.
