[ # ] David Alan Grier is a little bitter about DWTS
March 17th, 2009 under Dancing with the Stars

David Allan Grier just posted this blog about his Dancing with the Stars experience and boy is he bitter. He is not even the lowest scorer or the second or the third or the fourth and he is posting a blog like this. Dang imagine what it would have read if he scored the lowest? He would have lost my vote, but I never intended on voting for him in the first place.

That’s his way of asking people to vote for him?! Had the exact opposite effect on me…

If he is going to act like this, I hope he is the next voted off. This is supposed to be fun, and a sweetie like Belinda Carlisle deserved to stay more than he did. You could tell she was down on herself due to some of the feedback she received, but I thought she handled herself with grace. Personally, I do not find Grier’s comments graceful or even tactful.

do not forget - he is a comedian. everything he does is for laughs

It should be “Kym and me” rather than “Kym and I”.

I do agree with him that his scores were lower then they should have been. I believe he got the same scores as the Woz and he did a much better job then Woz did. I thought the judges were being a bit too tough with him and I don’t blame him for being miffed. Keep dancing dude! I’ll vote for you.

I’ll vote for him! If you watch the show then you’ll know that he was wayyyy underscored - I mean, I like the Woz and all, but Grier is light years better at dancing. And I think Kym is adorable. He has my vote!

He’s a COMEDIAN, people!! I think everyone else is taking this too seriously… He’s always had a dry sense of stupid humor.

He’s funny as hell … a lot of people don’t understand his dry sense of humor. But he’s right, he was underscored.

It should be “Kym and me” rather than “Kym and I”.

You are wrong it is Kym and I. You should know what you are talking about before you type it on here, and look like a damn fool

[ # 293058 ] Comment from Grammar Nerd [March 18, 2009, 10:25 am]

You’re wrong, Correction…strunk white was right; it should be “Kym and me.” It’s called the objective versus nominative case (yes, I am a grammar nerd and damn proud of it). Do yourself a favor and delete “Kym and” from the his original sentence. You’ll quickly realize he needs to use me vs. I. Your junior high English teachers must be cringing…Ha…

[ # 293059 ] Comment from Correction for Correction [March 18, 2009, 10:25 am]

293033 - Actually, you are wrong. It is “Kym and me.” You can figure it out by removing “Kym” and seeing which one you would use. Are you saying the sentence should read “the judges would actually score I fairly”??

[ # 293063 ] Comment from Correcting Correction [March 18, 2009, 10:31 am]

Dear Correction,

YOU do not know what you are talking about. It is “Kym and me”. He would say “…if the judges would actually score me fairly”, not “score I fairly”, ergo “Kym & me” is correct.

No need to bite off anyone’s head.

I actually agree with DAG on this one. They’re judging him way too harshly—there was this kind of awkward silence, like they were being brutal for the sake of being brutal.

They kind of did this to Lance last year. His dances were way better than his scores, but every week they found something new to criticize. It’s like, they have to find a new target every year for drama, and I think DAG is this year’s pick.

[ # 293139 ] Comment from Angela [March 18, 2009, 5:03 pm]

I think he takes it so seriously, cause they all really work hard to dance the best they can. If you worked at something for 6 weeks…and u then you get undeserved low scores…wouldnt you be mad?

[ # 303842 ] Comment from Dawn [April 7, 2009, 6:16 pm]

Yes, it is definitely “Kym and me”- neither of these are the subject of the sentence.
Subject pronouns are used when the pronoun is the subject of the sentence. You can remember subject pronouns easily by filling in the blank subject space for a simple sentence.
______ did the job. (I, you, he, she, it, we, and they all fit into the blank and are, therefore, subject pronouns.)

Object pronouns are used everywhere else (direct object, indirect object, object of the preposition). Object pronouns are me, you, him, her, it, us, and them.
