One of Metallica’s most famous singles is Enter Sandman. However, it is not the type of tune that puts you to sleep.
What type of genre does do that? Adult contemporary, so that would be songs like Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline.
Therefore, I never thought I would hear the Heavy Metal band perform a song you could listen to in an elevator. But that is what James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett did at their Foxboro, Massachusettes show on Sunday night.
And since they are the Master of Puppets, the audience sang along. But then again, who doesn’t sing along to the chorus of that song?
So, I guess you can say Diamond was the Master of Puppets way before they were.
Oh, and since I hate Metallica, can we all agree that this proved Hetfield cannot sing anything but Metal?
