Have you ever noticed how some celebrities just seem to vanish off the face of the Earth after a brief spell of fame? It is easy to think that this is the case with Kristen Wiig if you haven’t seen so much of her on the screen lately, but the truth is that the actress is still motoring along nicely. In fact, you are probably about to see a lot more of her in the near future.
Where You Know Her From

After this, she appeared in movies such as Paul and Whip It, while she won an Annie Award for Voice Action for Despicable Me 2. Of course, she is best known among movie fans for Bridesmaids, which was critically acclaimed and earned her nominations for a host of awards.

Indeed, the chord that it struck with millions of viewers has given it a lasting appeal that sees it remain a firm favorite. The on-going success of Bridesmaids can be seen in the fact that it has also made an estimated $95 million in DVD and Blu-ray sales and is still a good seller on sites such as Amazon. Interestingly, Bridesmaids has also been turned into a popular slots game available to play online. There is also talk of a sequel being planned, although Wiig was quoted as saying “”we aren’t working on that” when asked.
Kristen also recently starred alongside Will Forte in the third season of The Last Man on Earth. Rather than being a main character, Wiig was a guest star who played Pamela Brinton in the 10th episode of the 3rd season. She was a wealthy socialite who had managed to escape the deadly virus that killed most of the Earth’s population but was then alone and unable to spend her money. The writers of The Last Man on Earth credited Kristen with providing a lot of the material to base the character on, and it proved to be a popular episode among fans.
Downsizing

Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! has grossed $43.7 million at the time of writing. It has been generally well-received, although some viewers were unhappy with the violence and the biblical connotations that it contains.
Where’s You Go, Bernadette
A May 2018 release is penciled in for this comedy drama in which Wiig acts alongside Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup, and Laurence Fishburne. As in Downsizing, her character is called Audrey in this Annapurna production.
This movie is based on a successful 2012 humorous novel by author Maria Semple that spent more than a year in the New York Times bestseller list, has been translated into over a dozen languages, and has been sold in 25 countries. While full details of the film haven’t yet been revealed, in the book Wiig’s character is a problematic neighbor of the title character, who goes missing after a series of arguments. It seems sure to be the sort of quirky, interesting comedy that is perfect for Kristen Wiig.
What About Her Personal Life?
Wiig has managed to keep her personal life pretty much under wraps despite her growing stardom. We know that she was married to actor Hayes Hargrove for a few years until 2009.
