Last week, The Rock was full of surprises. The actor is getting Oscar buzz for his performance in The Smashing Machine. But that was not all.
The football player-turned-wrestler-turned-actor has always been muscular. However, people were also talking about how his suit was loose and his frame appeared thinner on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. But he did not explain his sudden weight loss.
Today, he explained his slimmed-down look to the press at the Toronto International Film Festival. According to Variety, he is reteaming with The Smashing Machine’s director Benny Safdie to star in Lizard Music as a man 20 years his senior whose only friend is a chicken.
So far, DJ has lost 30 pounds, and he says a lot more to go. One of the ways he is doing that is by eating a lot less of his only friend in the upcoming movie.
It sounds like if TSM doesn’t get him an Oscar nomination, Lizard Man will.
