March 9th, 2015 under A&E

The Returned debuts on A&E tonight and it is worth checking out. The drama is something we’ve seen before, but that doesn’t mean it is not worth watching.
The Returned is based on a French version of the show and it is about a small town where the dead are suddenly coming back to life. It sounds a lot like ABC’s Resurrection and it should because it feels the same. There are differences and that is why I say it is worth watching.
Teenager Camille (India Ennenga) is the first person to return and the series starts with her death four years beforehand. She was on a school trip when the bus she was on crashes through a guardrail and goes down a mountain, killing everyone on board. She suddenly wakes up years later with no memory and returns home. Her parents (Mark Pellegrino and Tandi Wright) have split since her death and they are reunited when she returns. Camille has a twin sister, who did not go on the school trip, and she no longer looks like her sister. Not only don’t Lena (Sophie Lowe) and Camille look alike, the twin wants nothing to do with her returned sister. Tonight’s episode is about her story and by the end of the episode you find out what really happen when the bus crashed and what ties it has to another Returned.
Another one of the Returned is Simon (Mat Vairo), and he died on his wedding day. He wants to be reunited with his fiancee Rowan (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) but she has moved on and wants nothing to do with him.
Then there is Julie (Sandrine Holt), a doctor, who finds a boy (Dylan Kingwell) on her way home. She takes in the 8 year old, but he doesn’t say much. She doesn’t know who he is and what his ties to the town are, but soon she will find out.
The town slowly watches their loved ones come back to life each week and now they will have to find out why they are back.
