Steve Zahn was on The Drew Barrymore Show the other day, and the two of them talked about their Riding in Cars with Boys’ director, Penny Marshall.
They reminisced about what a character the late legendary actress was. Then the White Lotus actor shared a story about going to her house to discuss the film. He flew to LA to talk about the film, and she invited him to meet her at her house.
He explained to the audience that her house was massive. When he finally got inside, a man greeted him from the top of a staircase. The employee told him that Marshall was on the phone for him.
So he picked up the phone, and she told him to take the back staircase to meet her in the bedroom. However, that man told him there was no back staircase.
However, she was in her bedroom. When he opened the door, she was lying in the bed wearing a Lakers jersey. And in her Bronx accent, she asked him if he wanted some bacon. Of course, he said yes. So that man from the staircase came in with a plate of bacon. And then two of them sat in bed, talked about the movie, and ate bacon.
Zahn said to Drew, “How cool is that?” It is very cool, and it is a memory he will never forget. And now it is something I want to do. I want to invite someone over and eat just bacon in my bed.
And let’s talk about how cool and lovable Zahn is. I can totally see why Marshall Baconed & Bedded with him.
