Ever since Charlie Hunnam was announced as Christian Grey in the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey, fans of the book were understandably upset about the casting. Well today the Shaders (including me) got some really good news because he dropped out of the film version. Focus Features released this statement about his exit, “The filmmakers of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.”
No word from Sons of Anarchy’s Executive Producer Kurt Sutter or FX, if this is really the case. I mean does anyone else really believe that they didn’t know until now that his schedule on the drama would conflict with him filming the movie? Or maybe it is only me?
Oh well, maybe now they will finally give it to Matt Bomer as many of us are hoping for. And if they can’t get him, I am once again suggesting they look at Hart of Dixie’s Scott Porter. Who do you think should play the part?
