Billie Joe Armstrong gives a Green Day fan the time of her life!
August 21st, 2024 under Green Day. [ Comments: none ]

Ruby Leigh is having quite the year. Last Fall, she came in second place on The Voice when she was just 16 years old. Since then, she has continued to live the dream by playing at such places as the Grand Ole Opry and releasing her first single, Love’s Like a Rose.

Yesterday, she had the time of her life because she got to sing with Green Day, her favorite band, and use Billie Joe Armstrong’s guitar during the band’s concert in Kansas City.

The Voice runner-up held up a sign during the show that read, “I’m 17, please let me play Good Riddance.”

So, at the end of the show, Armstrong called her up on stage to do just that! The singer let her shine! And boy, did she do just that.

Then, when they were done, he grabbed her phone out of her back pocket and took photos of and with her and the band.

After the show, she shared a video and photos from her night and wrote, “This was one of the absolute greatest nights of my life. Another notch on my bucket list!

“I’ve dreamed of singing with @billiejoearmstrong and @greenday for so long and it finally came true!

“Thank you to Billie for calling me up! Thank you Lord!”

My hat is off to Ruby for having the balls to do that and knock it out of the stadium. Because if it were me, I would’ve acted like an American Idiot.

And my hat is also off to Armstrong for being such a fucking awesome dude! We need more Rockers like him.
