Extended Family is the best new sitcom of the season, and tonight at 8:30p, we are getting another new episode on NBC.
The sitcom is about divorcees Jim (Jon Cryer) and Julia (Abigail Spencer), who are co-parenting their children, Grace (Sofia Capanna) and Jimmy (Finn Sweeney). As in, the parents are one week on and one week off at their marital home.
Julia has moved on because she is engaged to Celtic’s owner, Trey (Donald Faison). Tonight, he gets his first test of parenting.
It is time for the switchover, and Julia is tied up with something else. Therefore, Trey is in charge. So, when Grace asks if her friend can come over for a sleepover, he says yes.
He got this. That is until she comes over crying because her boyfriend dumped her.
Can Trey handle this? Good thing Jim didn’t leave, so he will help his future ex-wife’s husband out.
And they will work together to help Grace out as an extended family.
If that is not reason enough to watch, then how about seeing Cryer caught with his pants down? That got me tuning in!
