ABC has just announced the contestants in the next round of "Dancing with the Stars." Among the instructors hitting the dance floor with a celebrity is Jesse DeSoto. The ballroom dancer from Chicago starred in ABC7’s Last Dance contest. Now, he will be in the national spotlight with Shanna Moakler, former Miss USA and star of the reality TV show "Meet the Barkers." "It’s kind of crazy," said DeSoto. "They just gave (me) a call& A few weeks ago and said, hey, would you be willing to come tryout. We’ve seen the video of you, why don’t you come out and do an interview. So we did. They put us up the next couple of days. They called us back in two weeks, they called the day I got home and said, ‘We’re going to send you a contract. Are you willing to sign on for two years?’"DeSoto started dancing after high school."Well, I got out of high school, didn’t really have plans to go to college, was never much into school. But I figured an apprenticeship, like a journeyman’s, was the way to go. Tried an electrician’s test, failed it pretty miserably, and you can only take it every six months. So I’m waiting for six months. And I have to find a job. And I found an ad in the paper, no experience necessary. So I went in and took a summer job, just for three months. And–now, wow, I’m here," said DeSoto.
