The other night the singer from Foo Fighters was on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, and they played a game. The two of them had to guess what song The Roots were playing. Sounds easy, but they changed up the songs, so they were harder to identify.
Astley was playing on the internets and saw this bit, so it inspired him. Therefore, he took out his guitar and changed up the song we all know so well to make it edgier.
