
In 2024, Julie Andrews said that she had moved on from The Princess Diaries, and today, she confirmed it.
“I think the absolute truth is that I think I’m really past all that now,” Andrews told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m not completely retired, but it’s a different kind of work that I do these days — [writing] books, and I do a lot of recording of podcasts and voiceovers. But truly, I don’t think I should be a part of it.”
Even though the screen legend will not be part of it, she is interested to see how they carry on with the story.
However, without her, I am not. I don’t think Hathaway is strong enough to carry the movie without her.
It would be like doing The Devil Wears Prada without Meryl Streep. It wouldn’t work. And I liked the sequel more than the original.
