Jeff Bridges has been silent about his health over the last year, and that is because he has been battling cancer and COVID-19 for most of it.

Last October, the actor announced that he was diagnosed with Lymphoma and would be undergoing chemo to fight it. Today, he gave an update on his battle. “I continue to heal. My 9 X 12-inch tumor has shrunk to a 2×2 thing,” he wrote.

That was part of his message. The second part starts on January 7th. That is when he got a letter from where he is receiving chemo, telling him he was exposed to COVID-19. Shortly after that, he and his wife were rushed to the hospital with the virus. Susan Geston spent five days in the hospital, and he spent five weeks.

The difference was that his immune system was compromised because he was on chemo. Had he not been vaccinated, he might not be here today.

Even though he survived coronavirus, it had long-lasting effects on him. He left the hospital on oxygen. Thanks to his medical staff, he was able to get off of it in time to walk his daughter down the aisle and dance with her at her wedding.

The news gets even better. He is back at work on FX’s The Old Man. He might star in The Old Man, but the 71-year-old is fighting for his health like a young man.
