January 24th, 2018 under Elton John

Elton John has been wowing live audiences for almost 50 years and now after half a century he is ready to announce what is next for him. Some are speculating that the 70-year-old is going to announcement his retirement from touring after one more world tour. If that is the case, he has plenty to keep him busy. He is working on a Broadway musical for The Devil Wears Prada, a live-action version of The Lion King (he worked on the animated and Broadway version of it) and the animated film Sherlock Gnomes.

Now my speculation is that in that the video he posted A wrinkle in time. Past meets present, he mentions his first show was at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. I think he is going to announce at 9:30a ET that he will play a huge concert that will be filmed for YouTube. Since that latter is in partnership with the announcement.

If he is announcing his retirement from the road, I say go see him while you can. I have seen him in an auditorium, a converted movie theater and an amphitheater, and every show was amazing. There are a few people that can put on a show like him, so don’t miss it.

If he is retiring, he is the second artist to do it in just as many days. Neil Diamond announced he was done touring on Monday after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

For the update, then

He revealed that he is going to one more world tour and then he is done being on the road. Granted that one more tour will last 3 years, getting him to that 50 year mark. He says if you are going to go out, go out with a bang.

He explained that he is ending his time on the road to be with his children, who will be 8 and 10 when he is done. You cannot blame him for wanting to spend time with his Zachary and Elijah. After 5 decades of traveling, you want a place to settle down.

Even though, he will not be performing live on stage anymore. He says, he will still be writing more music and musicals when he is not busy taking his sons to the soccer academy.

John says that he made this decision back in 2015 and it took over 2 years to plan his goodbye yellow brick road. Which should be the name of the tour, don’t you think?

The singer promises he won’t be doing a Cher even though he likes to wear her clothes. But he will have an array of Gucci clothing to wear during his nearly 300 final dates. Therefore, when tickets become available in your city, you should make sure to see him end his brilliant run. Because he puts on show that is unlike any other.
