We always thought that Dolly Parton had a style all of her own, but turns out she modeled herself after someone she knew when she was growing up.
She told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show yesterday that, “When I was little, I patterned my look after the town trollop.” Then she explained why, “I thought she was the beautiful thing. She had all this makeup and hair and all the tight clothes and everything I wanted. So it impressed me.”
So much so, she is going to play The Painted Lady in the followup movie to her huge hit Coat of Many Colors. Christmas of Many Colors debuts November 30th on NBC and now we have another reason to tune in. We will get to see Miss Dolly play her style icon. An icon whose look she still emulates today and we don’t ever want her changing.
