The CW released the trailer for Private Eyes: West Coast, the sequel to the Canadian procedural Private Eyes, which ran for five seasons.
When we last saw them, Shade (Jason Priestley) and Angie (Cindy Sampson) had solved the show’s biggest mystery: will they or won’t they? But as our private eyes shared that long-awaited kiss, we were left with a new burning question: What happens next?!
We pick up with Shade and Angie five years later. They got married, shut down their P.I. firm, and moved west to Victoria, BC. Goodbye, Toronto smog alerts. Hello breezy weather, ocean views, and Blundstones. Lots of Blundstones. Shade and Angie have also welcomed a new member on board: an adorable baby boy named Declan. That’s right – our duo put away their P.I. licenses to become full-time parents. Sure, the days of stakeouts and tailing suspects are over. But married life isn’t just about diaper changes and connecting sleep cycles. Shade’s hockey memoir hit the shelves to rave reviews. And Angie still puts her P.I. skills to use – during story time.
As excited as I am for this series, because I adored the OG, I wish the network had held off airing this until Wild Cards returned. This way, The CW could have had a Priestley night of television.
PI:WC premieres on October 5th with Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent. Until then, you can watch all five seasons of Private Eyes on The CW app or CWTV.com, which is something I suggest you do because it is just fun.
