ABC announced today that they picked up American Idol for a second season. Not only that, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan,
Lionel Richie and Ryan Seacrest will all be back? How many of us thought that Perry would eat the apple and be done with the show? I guess they like paying her $25 million more than she is worth.
Just like the return of the singing competition, who asked for the show to be renewed for another season? Dancing with the Stars does better than Idol in the ratings, so why waste the money on a show that people really don’t care about. Can you name any of the contestants? Remember when they were all household names on Fox? Now, we barely know that show airs on Sundays. I think.
I mean, I guess they had to pick it up to save face. As in, they think would look like a total failure if they didn’t bring it back for another season.
On when does it come back, ABC didn’t say if it would be the fall or the winter. Just that it will be back next season. If they bring it back in the fall, they will be shooting themselves in the foot. But what do I know?
