On Sunday, Cheryl Burke announced that she has a breakthrough case of COVID-19. So on Monday, Dancing with the Stars came up with a creative way to keep them in the competition. They had the judges judge one of their rehearsals.
We didn’t know how they would continue on because Burke is in the middle of a 10-day quarantine.
But then yesterday happened, and something happened that made their future on the dancing conpetition seem bleak. Burke’s partner, Cody Rigsby, also tested positive for a breakthrough case of coronavirus, the second time he has had COVID this year.
Does that mean they are out? They are down, but not out. The dancing duo told Good Morning America’s Zohreen Shah, they will be dancing this week! How? They will be performing from their homes, on different coasts. How? We will find out on Monday, but even I am not sure.
If they somehow make it happen and look semi-descent, they better get a 40 and a standing ovation. I mean, it is admirable that they are dancing with COVID-19. But to do a routine 3,000 miles apart is mind-blowing.
Good luck and get well to them.
Oh, and Tyra Banks better not make it about her. That is an even harder task than what Burke and Rigsby were assigned.
